What If the Heat loss this yr...A Crazy Scenario...Would You?

(**not reporting, its a hypothetical - lets be clear about that**)

Today on 1st Take, Stephen A. Smith proposed that if the Miami Heat get eliminated by the Boston Celtics and dont win a Championship, that Pat Riley should break the team up and then at some point pick up the phone and call Jim Buss and offer...

    D. Wade and Chris Bosh for Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant.

    =========

again its not news of any kind its just an idea for coversation.

But if you were Pat Riley would you make this call?

If you were Jim Buss would you accept this proposal?

Do you think that Kobe would wave his no-trade clause to allow it to happen?

Would Laker fans accept this? Would Heat fans?

And lastly, if it did ever happen who'd win a title 1st?

But if you were Pat Riley would you make this call? Not at all, No way.

If you were Jim Buss would you accept this proposal? Yes.

Do you think that Kobe would wave his no-trade clause to allow it to happen? Probably since the Heat would give him a better opportunity for his 6th ring.

Would Laker fans accept this? Would Heat fans? As long as they both keep winning then yeah, probably both would accept it eventually, not sure either would right away though.

And lastly, if it did ever happen who'd win a title 1st? Lakers.

Financially it's way off too. Kobe makes $25 million per, Gasol $18. Both Wade and Bosh are lower than that.

sure this wouldnt be a real obsticle, Miami would just have to throw in an extra player. 4 ex. Mike Miller

bottom line is im sure if it ever had a real chance of happening, they wouldnt let the contracts get in the way.

Why would LAL accept such a trade?

not saying they would or 4 who it would be good 4..but maybe everyone just needs a new scenary.

its obvious kobe doesnt like the lakers current leadership and thinks very little of them tho after what happened b4 he wont say it publicly and maybe the duo of D.Wade and LBJ has run its course. lossing usualy causes changes, sometimes big sometimes small.

Dont know if id go ever, he actually said out of his own mouth that he once honestly thought he was leaving b4. and he clearly doesnt believe in managment. i think that much understood knowledge for any laker fan.

and quiet is kept if Kobe didnt have the no-trade clause, dont think it above the Lakers to try and trade him and move the team in a new direction, but the no-trade clause creates a PR nightmare if they ever tried to trade him.

bottom line is this is sports...if the Colts can trade Peyton Manning, then the Lakers could trade Kobe under the right circumstances. i mean who would ever thought Heat brass would leak out info that Wade is up 4 dicussion if the heat dont win.

lets be real, im not saying it would happen but even the sun wont shine 4ever...ever is a strong strong word

Ever is a strong word but as a Laker fan myself, I don't see Kobe ever leaving. I know all about Kobe's judgement regarding upper management and so on but LA is Kobe's city and that's not changing anytime soon. Lakers will not trade Kobe. Kobe almost left us years ago for the Clippers but stuck it out with the Lakers and has 2 rings since then. Kobe and the Lakers to hand in hand.

I wouldn't do it if I were either side. Heat get a lot older real fast and honestly the Kobe/LeBron combo doesn't sound that enticing. Too much ball dominating by Kobe and LeBron isn't as efficient off the ball.

The Lakers really don't do much either, it's not a real bad deal from their standpoint although short term they are probably better off with Kobe.

I'd get rid of one of them for Gasol. Miami needs a big man

I f they lose, I would like Miami to get Howard and maybe JRich or Reddik or a knockdown streaky shooter like Terry and trade only Wade of the Big 3 and maybe a few others. This would basically cover most of the flaws Miami has now. Imagine what the frontcourt of Howard/Bosh/Lebron can do with Chalmers/Miller/a knockdown shooter could do. You get the size inside the paint. You have a brilliant playmaker and a good PF and you have two good shooters. Teams with a stronger frontcourt will obviously have an advantage against this team but with such a strong backcourt I dont see it losing like Miami does.

However I dont think the Heat will trade Wade anytime soon as he has been there for a long while and he pulled together the big 3. Infact I see these 3 guys trying for a year more hopefully with a better supporting cast next season if they do not win this year.

The only scenario I see any of Miami's big three being on the move is if it brings in Dwight. Other than that, I don't see a real reason to move either of them.
