Re: NBA Movement Central 2012 (All Transactions 1st Page)

When has an early 20's player ever taken less money.. especially a player who has never had even a decent contract before that...

He made the smart decision to sign a contract that no other GM would ever offer him.. and that's saying a lot about NBA GM's, considering they're not the shrewdest of the bunch.

There's no real need to discuss this guy anymore, it's worse than Tim Tebow..

I've never seen a more irrelevant basketball player get this much discussion.

Anyway, reports are that Dwight has agreed to sign a long term extension if traded to LA...

Hopefully soon we can all stop talking about Lin and Howard. Smh.

Im really hoping a deal gets done soon with us getting Bynum and somehow keeping Tristan. I know ORL new GM likes Andy, but it makes more sense for Andy to be in LA. Him and Dwight on defense would be great, and with Andy off the bench, you would always have a mobile big to protect the paint and perimeter. For ORL, Andy would be good for them, but Id assume he gets traded for more assets. Walton and Boobie are expirings for ORL, and we have a few picks we could trade, so ORL could get a head start on the rebuild. For us, getting Bynum alongside Kyrie would give us a great 1-2 combo. If we can keep Tristan, his defense and rebounding could compliment Bynum very well. Waiters and Zellers add to our core, which leads to a good start for getting back into the playoff hunt.

Now that they have Jamison, if they get Howard, um, holy crap. Probably the best starting 5 in the NBA, and they actually might have some scoring off the bench.

Edit: inb4 Nash, Gasol and Howard all miss the season due to injury.

Would Jamison come off bench or start at the 3?

Jamison hasnt had the best teams, but just looking at stat line, he has had an impressive career. 20 ppg, 8reb, 2asst, and 1stl per game.

Dwight Howard is ready to join the Lakers and will sign a long-term contract following the 12-13 season if traded to the franchise, sources tell RealGM's Jarrod Rudolph.

The Lakers are reportedly ready to make the trade, but first need assurance from Howard that he will commit to the team long-term. Sources say Howard is “excited” about the opportunity to play for the Lakers and will re-sign with the team when his contract expires at the end of the 2012-13 season.
Sources aren't listed, but if this is true I'd say this trade is a done deal.

                Wow, one time.

Btw, has Lamar signed anywhere? Or has he kinda retired?

e/ Nvm, I found he went with the Clips.

I know I'm looking forward to this season. All these contenders loading up and a great class of new rookies coming in is going to make this a fun year to watch.

I know a lot of people are turned off by the "super teams" and specifically the big markets stacking their teams but it's not like all of them are going to pan out to how they look on paper.

Same here, but the thought of the Lakers getting that much better is quite worrisome....lol

Dwight Howard OK to re-up for Lakers

I'd say it's starting to definitely look like a done deal. I still think a third team is going to be involved (probably the Cavs) and Bynum goes to them and not Orlando.

How would NY move him the 3rd year for that kind of money... especially if he busts.

Also, Vlad man is a solid signing so I'll take it. Maybe the Bulls pick up "The Machine" and reunite them together.

He could have stayed for less. That offer was atrocious and it makes him hugely overpaid until he proves me wrong. By signing it he decided for the Knicks imo. What's more, he could play in the biggest market. When they throw such money at you you just take it I guess. Good for him.
