Kirilenko would be walking away from about $3 million dollars if he comes back to play on a veteran minimum contract in the NBA. I've read that he really wants to win a title with CSKA too. I don't think he'll come back for the 2012-2013 season, but we shall see.

I wouldn't want Kirilenko on the bulls. I rather take a shot on T-will getting his head straight around Rose, Thibs, and a winning environment than sign a 31 year old kirilenko

Bulls should just gamble on him and waive him if it isn't working out. Just like they should have gambled on T-Mac two years ago.

I don't think money is an issue for him though. I read somewhere that he donated his entire salary last season to charity. The championship may hold him back though.

Nazr is a good mid-range shooter and has a little bit of a face up game.

Andre Kirilenko to the Nets? Nazr Mohammed expected to sign?
Not holding my breath for Kirilenko, especially signing him for the Vet's Minimum.

Surprised Raptors aren't gonna sign Kirilenko. He's a type of player BC likes, would sign cheap, and Raptors could really use him

The Chicago Tribune reports, in the midst of an in-depth analysis of whether the Bulls' moves are financially-based or basketball-driven, that Derrick Rose is "out until likely March."
                      Kaboom.
Reports in May had targeted an early January return for Rose, but March is more consistent with the tentative-12-months prognosis often given to ACL injuries. There's no way to be sure, though. Rose could bust through rehab and make it back by January. He could have setbacks and miss the entire year. It's a long and difficult process with steps along the way, but all of them have to go right for him to hit the optimistic end. And updated projection two months later of March is not a good sign.
Rose being out until March would spell doom for the Bulls' season. They might be able to maintain their pace they did last season, even after losing several key bench contributors, but there's no way Rose is back to anything close to himself by the time the playoffs roll around in mid-April. That puts the Bulls' chances at a title in the "not great under any conceivable scenario" category. And without Rose, if things don't go as swimmingly with the new cast of characters as they did last season, the Bulls could wind up on the outside of the playoffs, a stunning fall from their No.1 seeding in the East two years in a row.
But it's still early. There's a good chance Rose can get back on track, and make January or at least split the difference and return after the All-Star break. Two months to find his rhythm is much better than six weeks before the playoffs and things might be salvageable. But the longer this thing goes, the more the temptation will be to shut Rose down for the entire year. If that happens, this year doesn't even exist for Bulls fans.
Things can change just that quickly.
I really the Bulls are patient with Rose and his rehab have him getting back to 100% completely a bigger priority than just getting him back in time for the playoffs next year even if he's not even 90% healthy.

Especially considering what Rose's strengths are. If you have to sacrifice an entire season, so be it. No need to rush things.

I think I've said it in here but in case I haven't, if you're 6'10-7'0 without any major physical ailments and you aren't in the NBA, you're doing something wrong with your life. NBA GM's act like they're one of the secret millionaires when it comes to anyone close to 7 feet tall.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Agree completely. I pray that Rose doesn't want to play so badly that he tells the coaching staff that he's "OK", when he really isn't.

If it ensures he will be healthy, I would rather have him take the whole season off and start coming back to basketball through non-competitive summer league games like the drew league etc.

That option would possibly land us a lottery pick also...

Hopefully rose's other nagging injuries go away through this process

Source confirms Marco Bellinelli's deal with the Bulls is done. Also: Bulls attempting to sign summer-leaguer Malcolm Thomas to 1-year deal.

Unsurprisingly, other teams after Thomas, too. Bellinelli deal apparently isn't precluding Bulls from continuing to chase FA 2G Randy Foye.
