I'm in the minority here but I don't think Ray has that much left in the tank.

I'm sure he can give the Heat more than Mike Miller did but Miller hardly played during the season.

Ray broke down. There's a reason Avery Bradley was starting.

I think Bradley + JET can equal what a healthy Ray was giving the Cs a few years ago.

Yes but Rivers has been around the NBA since he was a baby. He knows how much hard work and dedication it even takes just to be on a NBA team. I doubt he will be a bust.

Yeah I don't see this making them much better. I'm just glad they used their MMLE on him so hopefully there's no way they can get Camby, and he falls into our laps.

Meh, they were semi-rivals when Nash had his sidekicks but other than that the cores are no longer together for each team. Nash is going to a Laker team where only Bryant/Pau remain from their battles... I also don't care what happened decades ago between the teams, it didn't carry over to the present day.

We could give him the veteran minimum but I doubt that happens, we just need a 7'0 guy that can rebound and block a shot.

While I kind of agree as i've always been high on Rivers and why part of me won't mind EG leaving in the future or now because he can play his natural SG spot. Just don't like expecting too much from rookies, usually screws me over lol

So what happened long ago is irrelevant in determining rivalries? It kind of defeats the purpose of having rivalries if you just discard them because the players change.

I really don't expect Austin to break out during his rookie season since he only played one year in college. Look at Kobe he didn't break out till two years in the NBA.

But I agree in that they're aren't really many rivalries left in the NBA(I can probably think of no more than 3)which sucks because you see other sports put a HUGE emphasis on them(as far as the TEAM aspect of it goes) while the NBA just focuses on moreso the Player vs. Player rivalries as opposed to the teams.
I think it truly prevents rivalries though... guys are so familiar with each other, between AAU, camps, and national tournaments, they just become friends more than anything.

Anyway, to my other point, I don't think teams have to be "rivals" for it to still be somewhat off-putting to see a guy switch sides. I don't think it has to be Yankees/Red Sox at all, any team's core that has played another team's core for consecutive years... it would be weird to see them switch.

Yeah..Miami would need to S&T for Camby and they don't have any assets.

                        I don't see it happening.

                              Pittman for Camby straight up!

I think Camby would be a luxury pick up if Miami could snag him. It would be nice to have him vs. the Lakers or whatever team Dwight ends up with, but we could live without him.
                              Good job! Good effort!

Glad that UConn POS is finally off the team, wish it wasn't Miami. I hope he gets boo'd out of the Garden the first game he comes back, but I doubt it
