I agree. I was just posting it so people could see it, and I believe that we should match, but in no way is Lin the victim in this. He knew what he was doing and the possibility of the Knicks not matching when he signed on the dotted line. If we don't match I certainly won't feel sorry for him in the slightest.

Stupid deal for Raptors. He was one of their main guys at SF last year, then they get rid of him for a 2nd(despite trading for him last year and giving up a 1st for him too!)

Supposedly it was done to free up space for Raptors, but are they they desperate that 2.8M is considered freeing up alot of space...

Guess they're not trading Calderon then? Or they are,but will be taking on more cap in the Calderon deal?

This was a completely horrible move by BC. Who are we starting now, Kleiza? Ross? Granted, Ross has looked great so far.

I think it'll be a move for a big salary. Rudy Gay? I never know with BC.

Isn't Fields the starting SF as of now?

I could see a deal for someone like Gay though.

Raptors have about 5M in cap space right now after the Fields signing, so with Johnson leaving, that'd be like 7M in cap space. Gay costs around 6M more than Calderon, so it'd make sense.

Though did Raptors even sign JV yet? Wouldn't he cost like 3M?

AI from the 76ers is another guy I hope Raptors try to get.

If we get either AI or Gay, I'll be ecstatic, but only at the right cost. I just really don't want Fields starting. If Terrence puts on some weight, and we see 'Terrence Time' more often, then I'll be happy.

But what would the price for AI or Gay be?

Calderon,Kleiza, both 2012 2nd round picks and how many 1st round pick(though Rockets will get our first round pick not in top 3 I believe,so if we trade a 1st rounder, will have to be at least 2014)

Grizzlies turned down 4th overall pick for Gay, so looks like his price will be alot.

Then I don't want Gay, sadly. So good a scorer, but so expensive. I'd like to keep our 2014 pick, in case injuries happen and we end up a high pick. We could get a Jabari Parker, or, even better, and Andrew Wiggins.

But if we get Gay, our starting lineup will be:

                          C-JV
                          PF-Bargnani
                          SF-Gay
                          SG-DeRozan
                          PG-Lowry

with Ross,Field,Davis and more on the bench.

Seems like a team that could be hovering around the .500 mark(which in the east, means playoffs lol)

Would AI be an easier guy to get over gay?

Saw some old rumor that it was Calderon,Davis and DeRozan for AI....I'd rather give up a 1st than DeRozan

Unproven center, injury concerns for Bargs, and emotionless Derozan are all concerns. Plus, if the 4th overall pick couldn't nab Gay, then I dunno what would.

I think Iggy would cost less, but I don't know. Hopefully only a Lowry like price, but I dunno.

Word circulating on Twitter, per Jordan Schultz of the Huffington Post, is that Dwight Howard will "protest" and is prepared to sit out the 2012-13 season unless he is traded.

Dunno what can be said that hasn't been said already about this jackwagon.

If Orlando trades Dwight. I would guess the East would look like this:

Miami, Chicago, Boston, New York, Brooklyn, Indiana.
Bubble playoff teams would be Philly, Milwaukee and Toronto.
