It's official the Knicks have declined to match the offer as per the team

    Alan Hahn ‏@alanhahn
The #Knicks just confirmed they will not match the three-year, $25.1 million offer sheet Jeremy Lin signed with the Houston Rockets.

Have fun in Houston. Have fun with a team in a dead-end situation. Have fun being below average for the rest of your career.

With amnesty stuff done for now, could Mavs decide to just trade for Calderon?

It seems like they were just waiting things out and hoping Raptors were bluffing by saying they weren't gonna use amnesty on him(since Mavs have proven they're good at picking guys up on amnesty waivers), but now that it's all over, could see Mavs possibly making a deal.

RIP to the Linsanity era in NY. It was fun while it lasted.

Ex-Laker James Worthy chooses Andrew Bynum over Dwight Howard

"I like Andrew Bynum," Worthy said recently at an appearance at Bell Gardens Intermediate School, sponsored by After School All-Stars Los Angeles and Metro PCS. "He's young and just as good as Dwight right now. He's getting better. Dwight ... to me, he's too much gab and too much talking. I'm old school. I want to see something done on the floor. He does all this media stuff, flip-flopping. You don't get respect from veteran players when you do that kind of stuff. They just want you to play. They want to see what you can do out there."

Howard is 26; Bynum is 24. Howard boasted superior numbers over Bynum last season in points (20.6 to 18.7) and rebounds (14.5 to 11.8). But those numbers spark further debate. Would Howard score less with Bynum's supporting cast on the Lakers? Would Bynum score more with Howard's dominant role in Orlando?

            There are other unanswered questions...

I personally like Bynum better as a player.

Both suck off the court though, incredibly immature

I wish we wouldn't have zillions of pages about ****ing Jeremy Lin

In other news, Denver officially amnesties Chris Anderson and sign Anthony Randolph for 3 years, 6 million.

at how he could take such peanut money.. Lakers could have used him

The Nuggets have amnestied Chris Andersen.

Denver needed to clear Andersen from their cap in order to sign Anthony Randolph.

Randolph will sign a three-year, $6 million contract with Denver.

I don't fault Lin and his agent for trying to get paid, but other than the "Linsanity" fanbase what did he really bring to the Knicks that would make him worth $25,000,000 and potential $30,000,000 hit in year three of his contract due to the luxury tax.

He kept them afloat yes, but he didn't set them up for a playoff run. They were a playoff team before anybody even knew his name.

They were 8-15 before that Nets game on 2/4/2012, which was the first win of the big winning streak.

It was the end of January. How can you be out of the playoff picture in the NBA before the All-Star break has even come about. There isn't even a playoff picture at that point. Anyway, they were 8-15 when he came in and they were without Melo, Amar'e, Shumpert and Baron Davis. He kept them afloat until those guys came back.

Bottom line is that they definitely got better once Linsanity first started up, but I digress.

This isn't the thread for this discussion.
