The talent is so good it doesn't matter, but from a purist standpoint (or even an average spectator imo) games just look sloppy.
Yeah I get that and it would really be interesting to see how a team of some more complimentary role players along side the LeBron's and Durant's of the world would go.

I guess I'm just being nostalgic and I miss the old dream team where it seemed that even though nearly every player was an alpha dog in their own right they still meshed beautifully as a team. Of course the gap in talent level was way higher back then as well which played a huge role I guess.

We've put out every possible angle of why that group of HOFers deserve the props they got, but one thing we didn't talk about was how their "experience" (using that instead of age) made them better suited as well. They were all alpha dogs but there was also a good number of them who had reached a point where they adjusted their game to be more complimentary, and the game itself had more focus on ball movement back then. They also had players set for logical positions/roles. This 2012 team is best with Lebron or Melo playing PF, would be forced to play a kid 2 years out of high school if their center gets in foul trouble and the best all around player (AI) doesn't deserve to be mentioned with most of the rest of the team in any other setting. It just doesn't mesh as well as that team. I honestly can't imagine the stars aligning for something like that ever again (especially when you factor in the talent and NBA experience of players on the other teams).
