Don't know if that will happen.. I don't think it's that big men don't have the ability to have a back to the basket game as it is that it's just not how the game is played any more these days.. 7 footers wanna run, and shoot 3s and catch oop, not post up.. I don't think it's that they can't as much as it is they just don't, and coaches don't necessarily want them to, they needs bigs who can run, and use the pick and roll to allow all these scoring guards to get their numbers.. -
Re: Top 10 of All Time
Yes shaq was better those years.. But you have to look at entire careers, and longetevity.
Kobe averaged 25 this past year. The highest ppg for a guard with that many years in the league before this past year was 14. 14! Kobe is doing what nobody has ever done before and that's being this good this long.
Any star guard/forward with 23 shots per game better damn well be putting up 25+Comment

Wilt
Jordan
Magic
Bird
Russell
LeBron
West
Kareem
Shaq
Oscar
I feel bad for Wilt. His career was easily best, by the numbers, yet he had to face the absolutely stacked Celtics nearly every time.
You put Wilt on those Celtics teams, and there would be no doubt in anyone's mind who the greatest player in NBA history was. And that's not a knock on Jordan or Russell, it's just that Wilt dominated the NBA like we have never seen before or since.Too Old To Game Club

Not only was Michael Jordan the obsolete greatest SG of all time but also did so while playing against some outstanding competition through the 80s and 90s.. He never had to take a debate that anybody was better than him, and he beat everybody, Wilt didn't do that.Comment

Re: Top 10 of All Time
I won't say top 10 all-time because it's stupid to comment on players I never watched play live. No real order out of the top 3....
1. Michael Jordan
2. Magic Johnson
3. Larry Bird
Tim Duncan
Shaquille O'Neal
Kobe Bryant
Hakeem Olajuwon
Charles Barkley
Mangly Haired Douche
LeBron James
Honorable mentions go to Jason Kidd, Kevin Garnett, Malone, Stockton, Dirk and if healthy their entire careers, Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill.
Probably missing a couple people, I bet.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 08-23-2012, 06:12 AM.Comment

Re: Top 10 of All Time
1.MJ(No debate, many have had the potential to past him but never could. Talent wasn't his calling card, work ethic and dedication were.)
2.Magic(The greatest player i have seen. If not for AIDS he would be #1.)
3.Kareem(Literally could not be guarded, his misses were to his doing.)
4.Bird(Give him above average athletic ability and he is the greatest by far.)
5***ssell(Some say overrated but he is the greatest defensive player ever.)
6.Wilt(Epitome of dominant, he is the reason record books were made.)
7.Akeem(Most skilled Big ever, maybe even player.)
8.Duncan(Boring but dominant.Gets the job done.)
9.Kobe(Too inefficient to be any higher. On second though IDK why i put him above Shaq...)
10.Shaq(Wasted talent, could have been the undisputed greatest ever if he had a good work ethic.)
11.Jerry West(If he had won more rings, easily would be in the 4-8 range.)
12.Scottie Pippen( His defense was equal to MJ's Offense. He is the greatest perimeter defender ever.)
13.Kevin Garnett( So undervalued, the greatest defensive PF ever.)
14.Lebron(If he stays on track he will be #1 or #2.)
15.Dwayne Wade(Never gets the recognition he deserves.)
16.Barkley(Didnt play defense but ...he is Barkely.)
17.Malone(Arguably the best PF ever.)
16.Zeke(People know him more for destroying the Knicks than his greatness.)
17.David Robinson(No weakness as a player.)
18.DR.J(The Godfather.)
19.Oscar Robertson(Overrated, the pace of play was ridiculous in his time.)
20.Elgin Baylor(Great SF but no ring.)
21.Stockton(No weakness, equally great on both ends of the floor, but no ring.)
22.Kidd(If you could design a PG, you would make Kidd.)
23.Ewing(Best shooting Center period.)
24.Walt Frazier(All around PG, Maybe the first)
25.Dennis Rodman(I know most wont agree but defense IMO is more important than offense, arguably the greatest all around defender ever. Imagine the post defense of KG and the perimeter defense of Bruce Bowen along with the rebounding of Wilt...But the offense of Ben Wallace is what makes him so far on this list.)Last edited by The ArkanSaw; 08-29-2012, 03:13 PM.Comment
