That's kind of how it works. The most talented team usually wins the championship. Kobe was a big part of the talent that made those teams the most talented in the league.



lol...I hate this crap. It's completely meaningless. How do you measure how good someone makes their teammates? How does one even make a teammate better in the first place? Makes absolutely no sense to me.

Completely meaningless? Jordan, LeBron, Magic, those are guys who make their teammates better.. What separates a guy like Kobe from somebody like Bernard King or Alex English, he plays much more like them than he ever has Jordan.. He shoots a lot, he scores a lot... That's exactly what those guys did... Sure his play style looks more like Jordan's but so does every other player that grew up watching Jordan and wanted to be like him..

So...that's not how the Celtics, Spurs, Lakers, and Miami won a championship? How bout the Pistons and Mavericks? You know what separated them? They had an actual bench....which plays into the talent part.

I mean, cool, it's not like Nash (during his 2 year MVP run no less.....), Amare (Prime "I'm going to dunk everything off of a pick and roll" Amare), Shawn Marion (Prime Shawn Marion. The same dude that was averaging 20 PPG, 11.5 RPG, 1.5 BPG and 2.0 SPG playing alongside Nash) , Boris Diaw (Who was the Lamar Odom of the team), and Raja Bell (Specifically assaigned to irrate the ever lovin mess out of Kobe) wasn't impeding Kobe's progress by continually meeting him in the first round or anything....

Yep, Lamar Odom sure was a 1st team defender capable of guarding Amare. Yep, Smush Parker sure was putting the clamps on Steve Nash. Of course Luke Walton was winning his matchup against Shawn Marion. No doubt about that.

Yep, it's not like the Suns didn't have the superior team during that era....

I didn't say the suns didn't have a better team? Or that Odom was supposed to stop Amar'e etc, etc...

And no Miami did not have the best team in the league last year, the Pistons for damn sure didn't when they won it all.. The Mavericks I don't think did, and in some cases neither did the Spurs.. The Lakers yes, and Celtics yes..

Uh yes...Miami did have the best team in the league by far after Rose went down in the playoffs. Chicago could have beat them healthy IMO but other than that, who was better? Please do not say OKC...they clearly showed they were not.

The Spurs were the best in 99, 03, 05 and 07...lol where do you get this stuff? I mean you could make an argument in 05 that the Pistons were a 1A & 1B situation as they took them to 7 and I thought should have won the series, but other than that...not so much.

You're serious right now? Bosh and Wade weren't even healthy, neither could even play in the Olympics.. Other than those 2 LeBron's supporting cast was HORRIBLE the entire season, and i mean horrible.. That team is the big 3 and the terrible 9..I can't believe you can even try to argue that OKC didn't have a better team, or San Antonio, or LA.. Even Indiana was more well rounded than the Heat..The bulls were better had they had Rose, LeBron had the best single player playoff run since Jordan.. Nobody has played that well in the past 15 or so years..

And how can you make any kind of argument for the Pistons at all when the Lakers started Kobe, Shaq, Malone, and Payton??.. The only player on that whole team that was a legit star in the league for more than just a couple years was Sheed? You're talking 4 players in the Lakers line-up that could be top 10 of all time at their positions, 3 of which would be top 5!

And in 99 the Spurs probably did have the best team but not the '03 squad.. Robinson was 37 years old and waaaaay past prime, he wasn't even getting double digits in points or rebounds, Jackson had only been in the league two seasons, Parker only 1, and the other starter Bruce Bowen??? Yeah that's a superstar team right there.. 6th man Malik Rose LOL..
The '05 started Rasho Nesterovic, the only thing they had going for them that you could argue is Horry off the bench..now the '07 like the '99 team you could again argue they were the top team in the league..

Laker fans hate Smush Parker for the most part because the majority of the so called Laker fans these days aren't really Lakers fans at all, they are Kobe fans..

Since the team was so bad during that stretch the "Laker fans" wanted to blame everybody but their beloved Kobe Bryant, who at that point in his career was playing as selfish basketball as anybody I've ever watched..

They weren't going to put any blame on Kobe even though you had LeBron James single handedly carry teams just as bad as the one Kobe was on deep into the playoffs every year and the best record in the league two straight years..and even a few years before AI carried that horrible team all the way to the finals..

Don't blame the role players for not being able to win meaningless regular season games, blame your superstar!..

One man obviously isn't going to win you a ring, but somebody on that level of that caliber should at least get you to the playoffs..

Laker fans hated Smush because his *** shrunk up like a sphincter when crunch time came. He was like Ramon Sessions without the ability to get his own shot off. He shriveled under adversity. He had Derek Fisher's ability to finish at the rim coupled with Sasha Vujacic (just before he got traded) 3 point %. Laker fans are not Kobe fans, if you suck and leave we say bye bye. If you force your way out, we say dont let the door hit you. Smush, and Kwame both represent a desperate time, maybe the most desperate, I'm talking worse than Sedale Threat/Anthony Peeler's teams. At least those guys rose to the occasion and tried to win games.

But for the guy saying the Heat were the best all around team this season, they started Turiaf for about half the season or so.. Brown played over him in LA I believe.. If that gives you a better idea of how bad the Heats supporting cast really is lol

Also @ Driddy, I'm not trying to bash all Lakers fans, I should have worded that better, I was basing it off the ones I personally know, who are pretty much only Kobe fans and blame everything on everybody but him..

I'm actually a huge Magic and Jerry West fan so I loved the Lakers of old.. Just not so much Kobe and the current batch of Lakers..

That's just Kobe On Kwame Brown, He doesn't even want to talk about Smush. Watching Laker games during that period of time was painful to say the least. Sure Kobe was lighting up the scoreboard and Lamar was doing nicely but the team was terrible for a couple of seasons. For all the people that are bashing Kobe for not winning those seasons,his supporting cast consisted of Kwame Brown, Chris Mihim, Smush Parker and Lamar Odom. He had some real "All Stars" off the bench such as the incredible Slava, Brian cook and Luke Walton. The fact they even made the playoffs and drove the Suns to 7 games in 2006 was a miracle.

When you get through Pacers and Celtics with a paint composed of Turiaf, Anthony, Haslem, Pittman & Howard you deserve some credit especially when Wade isn't playing the best he can and that your second shooting guard option is injured Mike Miller. Lebron was phenomenal during theses playoffs and heat where by far not the best roster/team out there.

A ton of Laker Fans hate smush because Kobe hates smush. As soon as Kobe started talking bad about smush a lot of people changed their tunes and decided they felt the same way.

They why did the Pistons win? With the way you are talking, it seems unfathomable that the Pistons could have pulled off the gentleman's sweep.

That Pistons team was a team in the truest sense of the word. They won a title, probably should have won two plus another finals appearance. You don't go to the conference finals 6 times in a row by accident.

I wish I could find that post-practice interview where Kobe calls Smush a ****ing bum. I think it was like last year or something. I forget why Smush got brought up.

He said something like:

"I told ya'll Smush was a ****ing bum." "Then what happened? He turned out to be a ****ing bum."
