Re: 2012-2013 NBA GM survey results
Two reasons I see why he gets looked over or even disrespected when it comes to the conversation of best PG in the league.
For one, his departure in Utah. Obviously, Williams got branded for being a malcontent and even rumored to have Jerry Sloan resign. Not sure how true that story is but it was public knowledge that those two did butt heads. That type of reputation can lead to branding you a ‘Coach Killer’. Not to say that Williams is there but the situation in Utah was a little messy for him and his handling of it probably didn’t help his image.
And second, he’s played on same very bad teams the last two seasons. Before his trade to the Nets in 2011, Utah was still an above .500 team but with all the turmoil with Sloan and Williams, you could see Utah descending into the abyss. They did loose like 6 games in a row before they traded Deron Williams to the Nets, who was worst off than the Jazz. And obviously, last year Williams was the starting PG for team that was 5th in the Atlantic.
All the PG’s mentioned as the best PG’s in the NBA: Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Rajon Rondo, Chris Paul, all play for teams that are well over .500. Deron Williams is the only odd ball in the group that plays for a crappy team. And not to say that it’s his fault but team recognition plays into this conversation.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: 2012-2013 NBA GM survey results
Teams were horrible.
It's funny because just 2 years ago, GMs voted him as the best PG and now he's not even mentioned. But yeah, if he wins then he's easily right back in the convo. If anything, the Brooklyn factor alone will get him some consideration.#RespectTheCultureComment

Yea it's crazy how going from a winning team to a losing team can change people's perspective on you so quickly. His scoring took a dip but his assist numbers took a jump.Comment

"Which player makes the most of limited natural ability?"
Such a backhanded compliment. I'm sure Kevin Love was glad to win that one.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.
