What was Harden average per 48 minute last year on the Thunder?

Edit: The one thing I will never understand about the Lakers. If they keep their losing ways up. Is why they didn't keep Brian Shaw as a head coach? I'm not calling for his neck just yet. I just think an in house move would of been.

      Re: 10/30 - 11/7 Games Discussion Thread.

after watching both lakers games this is my take after 2 games....

      offensively:

offensively i have no concerns in so far as the basketball minds on this team figuring something out, even if at times that means the players on the court just disregarding the offense proper and just figuring it out on the own.

i look at it like this, to me the thing that truly hurt the lakers offense the past 2 seasons was a complete lack of outside shooting. even if the ball isnt in steve nashes hands as much as ppl would like, he's still 1 of the greatest shooters ever and he can still do that at age 39.

so if at times late in games, esp in the playoffs, if they can rollout a lineup of Nash-Meeks-Kobe-Gasol-Dwight they should be able to compete offensively in late game situations. provided Meeks can hit wide open shots. so as long as they are healthy i have no real concerns about this team offensively. i believe they (the players) will figure it out.

      Defensively:

the lakers have zero team speed.

however more troublesome than that is the fact steve nash is a MAJOR defensive liability. he has zero on-ball defensive ability. this problem is not going anyway and its going to be there all season long nomatter how far they go. he's so bad defensively id have my doubts he could guard the statue of magic johnson standing outside of the staple center.

1 possession that really nails home this point 4 me was:

lillard had the ball in his hands at the top of the key (no dribbling). and from a standstill position he just blew right by steve nash to attack the rim b4 nash even began to move his feet. it is a downright shame for a professional athlete to get blown by from a standstill that badly, whatever your age. if your young enough to be out there thats just downright inexcusable as an athlete. luckly dwight came over to block the shot. but stuff like this is also going to keep dwight in a lot of foul trouble.

so what options do the lakers have to overcome this problem. 2 me, unless the lakers are going to play a significant amount of zone defense, the answer is currently not on the team.

i dont know how feasible this solution is, but imo they need to somehow aquire another pg or combo guard type player with solid on-ball defensive skills. who at times can play along side nash in the front-court and guard the opposing teams pg. and kobe is not the answer.

where can they getting this player from im not sure. but i also find it hard to believe that there is not 1 single player in the d-league somewhere who cant fit this bill. that player doesnt really need any other special skills except atleast B level on-ball defense skills and hopefully he can also hit an occasional 3pt shot. but im even willing to overlook that if need be.

because at some point in the game the lakers are going to have to put a unit on the court of: someone who can guard the pg - nash - kobe - gasol - howard.

so again unless the lakers are going play alot more zone defense, if they cannot find this type of player i just dont see how they can win a championship this yr.

steve nash is that much of a defensive liability.

I love what you said there. But why does it have to be a spoiler haha.

But I totally agree with the pg thing. I mean people compared about Derek Fisher being too slow to defend point guards in the league. But Nash has some major problems. I didn't see much of last nights game. Because I was so sick from the first game. Of how many times Darren Collison zoomed down the court and made easy baskets. What's the news on fisher anyway? Wasn't he suppose to sign already?

I find out about Harden per 48 minute stats. And I think it hit home. That's probably what he is going to average for the season. http://www.whatifsports.com/nba-l/pr...id=3566&view=3

Yea that statline seem about right. I thought he could get 20 4 6 in Houston (obviously exceeding expectations on the first impression) 25ppg wont be shocking though.

I don't expect him to shoot 39% from the 3 point line though. I seen some people jump that he's going to average 30 points a game. Maybe 27 max low side would be 25. He's not going to get 12 assist a night lol. Come on people he was playing the Pistons. *No offense to piston fans*

His 3pt % is going down no doubt because he's a better spot up 3pt shooter than coming off the dribble which he may have to do more this year since he's the go to guy so its just a matter of how much of a drop.

                                Thats not the question here

Its every loss its one of the two reasons as if theyre supposed to win every game regardless

They came into a buzzsaw last night in Portland, and that first game was a shame but missing FT's and not playing defense will do that to you. can't blame the coach for that
