It's not about trusting him or anyone. I just refuse to believe that Kobe didn't give the green light to firing Brown and I want to see how he spins it today.

I bet we'll hear a lot of "management's decision" out of Kobe.

Woj tweeted that the Lakers are dumping the Princeton. So much for that.

Of course they consulted Kobe, why wouldn't they and what's so bad about Kobe green-lighting the move? If you think Kobe is going to come out and say 'yeah, I ****ing wanted him gone' you're gonna be disappointed. Obviously he's going to keep it PC. That is unless he continues with his troll/unplugged act where he just says whatever's on his mind. Lol

Not really saying anybody trusts what he says, but as I pointed out, timeline usually shakes out to; coach sucks - team loses some unexpected games - fans become frustrated - players back coach - GM/Owner gives vote of confidence heating seat up more - coach continues to lose games - fans become unbearable - players turn on coach - coach loses another game - coach gets fired.

This situation was pretty much. Coach sucks - fans call for head - team loses unexpected games - fans become unbearble - player backs coach - GM/Owner backs coach - coach fired.

Dwight and SVG back together? The most awesome combo ever.

As for Mike Brown getting fired ... well, he knew it was gonna happen. He had to have figured it out when he first signed the contract. Hence why he's gonna get 18M for not dealing with the headache that is the Lakers.

I see him taking the next year or two off, letting the dust settle, and then ending up coaching a young team with some stars. Brown is way more effective with young guys who can grow into his system than with veterans who are set in their ways.
              Any comments are welcome.

I don't care about the other stuff. I just want to know where do they go NOW. If they are in a "Win now" concept. How does firing a coach during the season help the situation? Less whoever is the replacement wins 5 straight games out of the box. This isn't a good move. Dan Toni isn't the anwser. Sloan qould probably fit well here. But I don't kow if he'll take the job. Who else is out there.. Stan/Jeff Van Gundy or Nate McMillian.

It's not about now though. It's about the end of the season and getting this core to its potential within their two year window. It isn't about 5 games or the regular season, it never was.

Wait? This is real? You take a guy that went to the Western Conference Semifinals last year and fire him after five regular season games? Wow!

Because someone on here acted like Kobe's not in the know.

And besides..Kobe was the one who called out LA fans about panicking..yet that's exactly what his front office did. And since we agree that he's in the know then that makes him phony as hell.

But I want to hear it from his own mouth and wonder if any LA reporter has the balls to call him out.

This is the Lakers... I'm not surprised one bit. I think it's hilarious that they're switching offenses in the during the year. I don't think it's going to work at all, especially with out a training camp

All I can tell you is that Mike Brown didn't need any help losing his job. So regardless of what Kobe was doing behind the scenes or telling the media, Brown simply didn't get the job done. I keep going back to the fact that he might not be a head coach material, so while the timing is terrible, in the big picture I think it was the correct move.

The offense wasnt the reason why the Lakers were losing though...
