Re: fire mike brown?
One thing I really dislike about Mike Brown is his coaching staff.
John Kuester who was main assistant before Jordan, didn't amount to anything with the Pistons when he coached there. Eddie Jordan didn't amount to anything when he coached the Wizards. Darvin Ham, a 6'6 bench scrub for his entire career, is the big man coach.. (What does he know about being a big??? I may be too young for that ha) Bernie Bickerstaff is nobody, another coach with a coaching record that looks like 415-698.
Chuck Person I guess is fine, I don't know why we got rid of Craig Hodges, but it just seems like, Mike Brown just surrounded himself with washed up coaches, and it's extremely frustrating.Comment

As for his staff, he hasn't been the same since he lost Chris Jent.Too Old To Game Club

Re: fire mike brown?
Brian Shaw was my #1 choice, simply because of his familiarity with the team, and we would have continued on with the Triangle offense, he was Phil's understudy pretty much. Other coaches who were available, were Rick Adelman (my 2nd choice) and I believe Jerry Sloan was available. I think all those coaches are better than Mike Brown.
Edit: Hell even Kurt Rambis haha.
I don't want people confuse my post with me saying that Mike Brown is a good HC or anything. But even with those names, would Laker Fans still blame them and ask for that Coach to be fired if they struggled as well like Brown is?
What if Pop retired from the Spurs and they brought in another HC or promoted one of their Assistants to the position and they started 0-3, do you think there would be THIS much noise about it like we're hearing with the Lakers? I doubt it.#RespectTheCultureComment

I'm not saying that my grammar is the best either but whoever started the thread should really try their best to get a tutor. I feel real bad for you, but anyway my thoughts.
Lakers didn't have Steve Nash last night against the Clippers, and no I don't like the Lakers offense. It's horrible Mike Brown needs to learn that this is a new season and just because you have a top notch roster doesn't mean you can bring lackluster attitude letting Kobe Bryant run the show offensively. They need some better set plays run instead letting Kobe go ISO. Dude its so many possiblities offensively. Kobe went 16-23 from the field. That shows me how much more of greater looks he can get. Also I see slot of Gasol catching the ball at the top of the key hesitant to shoot or pass, dude he's like 7 foot put him in the low post more so he can score some buckets and get into rhythm. Also the back Kobe and Nash should play more pick and roll with Howard. Another thing I don't see Jamison playing that 6th man roll well it ridiculous. Steve Blake missing wide open three's dude Blake is a great fit but he's not clutch nor can he make 3's when the Lakers actually need them.
Defense is supposed to be Mike Brown forte right? Well his scheme he's been using allowed the Blazers, Mavs, and Clippers to drop like 110 over them lol. I don't know its because they think we have stars on our team we can score every time so we don't need to play Defense. This teams Defense is ugly. Dude Collinson and Lillard looked like top 5 point guards out there. Lol dude This team is going to struggle defensively I'm sorry to say it. These guys have offense lol but in a league where defense gets you a ring I don't see it man these guys need help defensively backcourt. Lol
Anyway my final thought about Mike Brown is if they lose this Sunday he will be out by next month. If they barely beat the Pistons he will be here, but there will definitely be much noise coming about how he doesn't coach well. If the Lakers blow out the Pistons then he may be okay.. I don't know yes its way to early to ro tell, but from what I see this team is definitely not going to make a run to the finals unless the coaching becomes better or they trade up for some defense in their lineup.Comment

There is this rectangular button on your keyboard that has the word E-N-T-E-R, and it allows you to seperate your thoughts into what we refer to as paragraphs; which usually contain 5-7 sentences.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

I get that.

His rotations are terrible, he's terrible at making adjustments, and I think the Lakers really finished #3 last season based on talent. Now the team is just not responding to him, and you can tell when you watch the game. He say the same thing every interview after games about "we didn't do this, we didn't do that" and he doesn't correct that.
At the end of the day, teams are reflections of their coach, so the teams performance basically screams, Mike Brown is not the guy.Comment

Re: fire mike brown?
Do I think Mike Brown is a great coach? Nah. Do I think the Lakers should have went after Rick Adelman? Yes. But should he be fired? NO. For one there are no available replacements. Secondly, the problems LA has had are not on offense but in age, turnovers, familiarity, and DEFENSE. Any offense that has KOBE BRYANT shooting damn near 60% is fine by me.
However, I will say if this crappy defenset(the one thing I trust Brown to do well) doesn't pick up soon something needs to happen. Orlando played average D with Dwight and I refuse to believe they had better talent on that end.Comment

You may like the useless numbers Kobe's putting up and even he himself may even like it, but if they continue at the rate they're going Kobe winning a 6th title does not seem realistic.
Part of their woes might be due to TOs, defense, and ultimately age. But most of said issues are on behalf of this offense. Let's be honest here, without Nash there most likely will be no championship for the Lakers. The current offense they have incorporated takes the ball out of Nash's hands. Steve Nash works his magic off orchestrating the offense which requires the ball in his hands.
The Princeton offense effectively erases his role as a PG and playmaker because he's no longer making the plays, creating the shots, and running the offense - the Princeton is.
So, in turn, this renders their acquisition of Nash worthless. This is again on account of Mike Brown.
So in short, yes, he needs to be fired. And not only because of the reasons I mentioned.Comment

Are you both stupid? News flash: one player cannot do it by their self as evident by their current record. If everyone isn't contributing then the whole team suffers.
