Agree, Andy is playing great, there are just too many bigs who have a skill set I would much rather have when trying to build a contender. Many of which would also see a PPG and RPG boost if they were playing with the same cast Andy has. -

Re: Anderson Varejao is an All-Star
I've always respected Sideshow Bob. It would be a great testament to how much he has improved in the NBA. But too bad it probably won't happen though.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Anderson Varejao is an All-Star
K Love's made it the past few years and the T Wolves haven't been up there recordwise. Since when does W-L record matter for AS consideration? Varejao's been balling, if he keeps it up he'll be an AS regardless of Cle's record.
Is he the best C in the league? Let's not go overboard.Comment

Re: Anderson Varejao is an All-Star
If we're talking best C in the league this year and not overall(meaning over the course of 2-4 years), then he has a strong case at that claim.
And why would people include Kevin Love as one of the best Centers in the league?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Anderson Varejao is an All-Star
This year, though? I don't see a Center I'd take over Varejao, personally. He does everything very well, is mobile, can defend, rebounds like a machine, is a hustle player to the max and has even learned to score a little bit this year.
Hopefully the Cavs trade him away to be on a contender, because he'll be a godsend to a couple of teams in the league.Too Old To Game Club

I don't think people were referring to him as a center, I think it was in reference to him putting up good numbers on a crappy team and still being an All-Star

See, this says nothing about Love being a center.Comment

Re: Anderson Varejao is an All-Star
So all you need is a month to be declared the "Best"or an All Star? You can leapfrog that easily?

Re: Anderson Varejao is an All-Star
Yeah, similar. You're looking at per game averages. Varejao is getting a lot more minutes this year compared to last year, so looking at his per game averages aren't even fair. He's got a notably improved shot from mid range and the free throw line this year.
His per 36 minutes shows:
11-12 /// 12.4ppg 13.2rpg 2.0ast 1.6stl 51%fg 67%ft
12-13 /// 14.6ppg 15.0rpg 3.2ast 1.5stl 52%fg 77%ft
.... similarLast edited by mikenoob; 11-30-2012, 05:09 PM.Comment
