Re: 12/31 - 1/6 Game Discussion Thread
The whole thing is overblown.
I guess they're THAT desparate for a story since they know the monster known as the NFL has the majority of everyone's attention for the next month.
EDIT: I will say that I find it ironic for CP3 to call out another team about their celebrations when just last year their bench was celebrating after every dunk they did. Or did we all forget about that?Comment

Either way, wouldn't touch that guy with a 10 foot pole, then OR now.

I think what's happening is a good thing right now. They've been mediocre for too long. Lakers management have to look at themselves, everyone is pointing their fingers in their direction. Wether it's old Lakers's legends, fans, or just observeters. Something has to change, and it's not only players, it's not only coaches, it's all the way up.
Meanwhile I'd never thought the the day would come where Donald Sterling would be the least despised Basketball owner in LA.Comment

Re: 12/31 - 1/6 Game Discussion Thread
According to him:
“The first time they beat us here, you would have thought they won the NBA Finals,” Paul [said]. “Then they beat us up there pretty handily, so we wanted to protect our home court. This was the third time we’ve played those guys at the end of a back-to-back, so we knew if we let them get out and run, we’d be in for a long night.”
My question for him is why is/was he so concerned with how they celebrated in that game? I'm sure that's not the first time in his career he's seen a team celebrate like "they won the NBA Finals".#RespectTheCultureComment

I'm not questioning him remembering it nor do I have an issue with that part.
My point is that there was no reason to bring that up at all especially after the fact. It's real easy to say it now because you won but if they would've lost, he wouldn't have even brought it up at all.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 12/31 - 1/6 Game Discussion Thread
They don't celebrate anymore than any other team in the league. As for the Cavs comparison, LeBron was having a damn one man dance contest up and down the sideline, baseline and out onto the court DURING the game when he and Noah got into it. Big difference between THAT and some fist pumps and screams after a dunk
this is my point, my only point and the reason for the cavs comparison.
all i was saying is that i wanna see this same level of fun having-clowning around-showing up your opponent when the tough times hit (most likely in the playoffs)
the comparison to the cavs came from the way they did all the clownary b4 and during games. bowling, taking pictures, dancing, etc. clearly its not a 1:1 comparison because the antics are different but the clownary aspect of it is the same to me.
noah didnt just call out lebron for an isolated solo. alot of ppl (not everybody) thought the clownary the cavs were doing pre-during-post game was disrespectful in general. (and obviously mark jackson thought the clownary the clips were doing was abit disrespectful as well)
then when playoff time rolled around and the cavs were facing hard times all the clownary was all but gone.
im not sayin they (clips) shouldnt be having fun, but when you show up your opponents in any way, and then when the turbulance hits and you dont show the same clownary, then atleast to me you seem like front runners.
so im saying to me the clippers have alil bit of a front runner feel to them like the lebron cavs. thats not an absolute truth on the clippers, thats just my perspective on them.Last edited by TajDeni; 01-07-2013, 04:14 PM.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone

Re: 12/31 - 1/6 Game Discussion Thread
Those Cavs teams were something else though. I don't hate on them at all, because they put on a show every night. They were having fun and winning. No problem on my end. The name of the game is entertaining and doing things with style.
Now fast forward to today. When have you ever seen the Clippers do any of that sort of showmanship? Lol. They get hyped after dunks and scream but other than that, what have you seen out of them that would have you reference the LeBron era in Cleveland? Those Cleveland dudes were on some other level with their dancing and picture taking and this that and the other.
You really do sound like a sour Laker fan man, and if that's not the truth well it comes off that way. It's quite honestly sad that you would reach this much.Comment

this is going nowhere. i even said that it wasnt a 1:1 comparison. my point in comparing the 2 teams was that i think the clippers have a front runners feel to them like the cavs did. and how can a laker fan ever be sour about the clippers?
its all good to celebrate and be excited, but the reason teams that been there b4 dont do that is because you look silly when the turbulance comes. again you come off as front runners.
maybe we'll never know maybe they just continue to roll over everybody this yr including the lakers.

Re: 12/31 - 1/6 Game Discussion Thread
You sure? I thought D'Antoni was first choice, but since they missed out and he went to NY, Bulls then turned to Doug Collins and he was going to do it, but then he and Jerry mutually agreed not to go through with it and enter VDN.Comment

This Mavs/Jazz game might have the feel of a playoff game. The Mavs need to come ready to play and get their **** together, they need to be treating this like a must-win, the Jazz are in a similar boat, every win is precious for those teams that are gonna be fighting for the lower seeds in the West.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
NBA: Dallas Mavericks
MLB: Texas Rangers
NHL: Dallas Stars
NCAA: Alabama Crimson Tide
