Lol @ that Mark Jackson...
What's funny is that GSWs bench is the same way, their reaction to Blake Griffins 3 in the prior game was priceless...

It also doesn't help that Kobe is known to be a loner, especially how he's described in a book by his former championship teammate.Last edited by iLLosophy; 01-06-2013, 12:52 PM.Comment

I was trying to find a video but no luck. In OT Mayo was going up for a last second 3 to tie; Gordon jumped at him to contest, in the air Gordon threw his foot up and knocked the ball out of Mayo's hands.
It obviously got called a kick ball but it took precious 2 or 3 seconds off the clock.

Tell me about it! I respect Jackson and I like him but he was trippin last night. I guess he forgot that his own bench, namely that clown Bazemore was celerating like they won a title when they were stomping the Clips just last week.

Re: 12/31 - 1/6 Game Discussion Thread
mwp said in a radio interview, that there are 5 leaders on the team. him, kobe nash, gasol, dwight.
he said that himself and kobe view basketball as a profession. he said that he and kobe have killers instincts, basketball is all business with them.
he said gasol really dont care about too much as long as they're playing team ball. said he talks to gasol the most on the team.
he didnt speak too much on nash.
he said that dwight doesnt take the all-business approach to basketball. said he was not used to playing with leaders on the team carrying that responsibility like dwight does. he didnt say it was wrong or right just that it was not what he was used to in his career.
he also said that he and kobe needed to try and find a way to adapt to dwight style of leadership but that dwight also needed to adapt to their way of leadership.
the mwp interview was b4 this dwight interview. you can find the interview on the max and marcelus podcast (espn radio LA)

He only took 11 shots today.. He seriously doesn't take shots... he's not even top 5 in attempts. Seriously, wow. He scores so damn much.

Re: 12/31 - 1/6 Game Discussion Thread
There was an All Star Game 2, maybe 3 years ago. Those games are pretty relaxed, but the competition juices usually start to flow around the 4th quarter if it's a close game. Everyone was in that mentality during the 4th, except Howard. There's a world of difference between how the greats (Garnett, Kobe, Ray Allen) approach the game as a business, and how others approach it.
This is so true, the sad thing about it, you can't teach "killer instinct." I have tried for years and years to teach my brother this skill if you wanna call it that. Growing up and even still now i have the mindset that no one can or will beat me at anything I do, and I love pressure spots, be it sports, school, video games or anything.
Dwight just seems like "one of those guys" that just has fun in life and whatever happens, happens. Kobe on the other hand and those people you mentioned want to win, hell they see it as their only option. I see Gasol as a type of guy who does play his *** off but just gets kind of lost in some spots.
What I am saying is Kobe (and me or anyone with killer instinct) is not going to get along with someone like Dwight Howard, it is just not gonna work, they are two completely different personalities.
I am not a philosopher or anything and am no way shape or form putting myself on the same level as any NBA player lol, but I never understood how this whole Dwight and Kobe thing would work in the first place. Dwight Howard belongs on a lowly team who will never win anything, because that is what Dwight Howard is.. Complacent.Comment

Re: 12/31 - 1/6 Game Discussion Thread
I would say so. Did you sense it last season at all? I feel like it's hard not to root for a guy like Chris Paul. Especially after I saw a special segment on him "Before the Bigs" that spotlighted his life as a child. Very tough not to like the man as a person and as an entertainer.
Since he's come to town, he's done what he always has: made the game of basketball into must see television. I've always liked Blake Griffin as well. So last season I ended up watching nearly every Clipper game and definitely stated that they were the best team in the city.. but I wasn't quite an official fan. With how Bryant has played since he won his last title it's easy for me to not enjoy that brand of basketball, while seeing the contrast of how the Clippers play.
Dwight Howard, the clown that he is, stated it perfectly when he said the Clippers play together and have fun while the Lakers play iso ball and don't run any sort of system.Comment
