    And going back to Love.

Do u think shooting threes from the Four spot is championship basketball? Dirk won when he finally played in the post. Barkley could shoot the three in Phoenix but it wasnt his bread and butter.

And can u dump the ball into Love on a consistent basis and he score?

Or you like your big men playing like a SF?

      Good point..

I always try to stay out of the "play style" aspect of things. I don't think championship basketball is really defined by a certain style of play. He doesn't have to do things the way a Dirk or Barkley did, he just has to win ball games his way.

When Jordan played you weren't supposed to be able to win scoring titles and championships together. Jordan wins 10 scoring titles and 6 rings.

When Magic played you weren't supposed to be 6'9" and handling the ball throwing flashy passes on the break. And he became arguably the greatest PG ever.

Plenty of players break the mold and use their own style. IMO whatever works, works.

Well yeah, you need defense to win anything. But it's team defense, as a whole. Not one persons defense.

            Yup.

And has there been a Championship Team that broke the mold and won with outscoring the opponent?

I still think there are formulas that still hold with the laws of basketball.
And maybe Larry Bird comes close to a SF who could play PF who could shoot the three and get rebounds. Yet he had Kevin McHale in the low post.

The jury is out for the Stretch "Power" Forward winning a Ring.

Jabbar won the ring and scoring title before Mike did it. Not a big deal.

Dirk is a stretch 4 though...

He made 23 3's (out of 50) in the playoffs when Dallas won it all.

He went 7 - 19 against Miami in the Finals.

Was Dirk in the post? Yes. But he wasn't banging like that. He was taking fadeaway awkward looking one-legged jumpers. What he wasn't doing was putting up hook shots and utilizing drop steps.

He was able to get to the foul line really well thanks to his well utilized fakes because his jumpshot is so unpredictable. He was crafty more than banging down in the post and getting physical calls. He was more Paul Pierce than getting hacked like Dwight or Shaq.

I'll just shorten what Duke said and say: Dirk ****ing Nowitzki
                NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
                NBA: Dallas Mavericks
                MLB: Texas Rangers
                NHL: Dallas Stars
                NCAA: Alabama Crimson Tide

I'm just saying Love doesn't have to start shooting one legged awkward fade-aways and transition 3's to be effective.

Dirk has his own play style, it's unique, and he has been criticized for playing the way he has his entire career.
