I could take some of the scrubs 1 on 1.

5 on 5 is definitely a whole different story.

Jimmer maybe? He would without doubt light me up but he's a guy I think I could score a couple points on.
Forgot about this thread. I'll say again, I don't know you from a hole in the wall so it's impossible for me to say you can't play on a certain level. But I can say you are drastically underrating Steve Blake's athletic ability. Especially since you're talking mostly defensively. He grew into his offensive game. He stepped on the court as a starter in the ACC leaning on his defensive ability. He's lasted in the NBA and has started for what is yearly expected to be a championship contender bc he's a smart player and a good defender... against NBA starters/stars. It's funny that you don't think he can guard you.

But maybe you're good enough to maybe make a D league team or a team overseas and then maybe you can get a point on him. Just doesn't sound like it... sounds like you just think he's a bum. He's your height and has played and started in the league for years. I can't speak on Jimmer... again that depends on how good you actually are, but all of these guys look worse bc of the competition they're playing against... which is worlds better than us.

You've been watching NBA games for a while so I'm sure you've seen Kenny Smith play... probably even in college. He's not THAT old. I don't see him playing all out for an entire game at this point so you may score, but going 100% I still think he's got you.

Lol@ idiots thinking that they could do anything against your random NBA scrub team. Steve Blake is 5th all-time in NCAA assists and a 38% 3pt shooter in the best basketball league. Scal was an 18 ppg scorer on 50/40/80, so outside of the best competition there is on the whole planet, they would simply kill anybody.
To have any chance to compete with them you'd have to be skilled enough to absolutely dominate high school, then be a standout on a great college team.

Against the best of the best they struggle, but against a bunch of video game playing kids, come on...Even all these mediocre college players going overseas are at a completely different level than anything you'll find on your local playground. So yeah, a team like Blake/Walton/Morrison/Cardinal/Scal
would absolutely torch anything below a professional level team.
So if you aren't playing D1,NBA or higher level euro ball, you'd get humiliated.

What does Steve Blake's assist numbers or 3pt % have to do with me scoring a few point on him? I swear half the people here don't actually read the posts before they jump all over me with their own posts.

2nd of all I'm not a "video game playing kid" you've never met me, you've never saw me play basketball, for all you know I could be playing D1 right now, I could be playing overseas, you don't know **** about me.. So maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge others.

That wasn't meant as a knock on anybody here, and I absolutely get your point, you're right of course. There are probably a few posters of course who are actually playing ball on at least semi pro level, and I never meant that any non-NBA player could never score against a one Would be studpid to do so, will happen. And read my post, I specifically excluded guys playing on say D1 level or overseas.

It was more related to the original topic being why certain players are in the best league of 5 on 5 basketball. And that's where I wanted to point out the performance of many NBA "scrubs" on the highest competitive college level. And if you read my post correctly, you'd notice that I was specifically talking about team basketball.
Taking 1 on 1 as an example is like saying, I'm actually as good as Messi because I can juggle the ball more often that him in a contest. There are guys out there who can do just that...

My basic point was that a team of NBA scrubs would absolutely be dominant on the highest college level ( both with players at college age and their current age). Now try to do that with an OS-all star team.

Logical points. Logical points that, in order to see where you're coming from, beg the questions:

                    1. How old are you?
                    2. How many years of organized basketball have you played?
                    3. What's the highest level of organized basketball you've played in?
                    4. What role did you play on your team?
                    5. Who are the best players you've played with/against in an organized sense?
                    6. Who are the best players you've played against one-on-one?
                    7. Who are the best defensive players you've played against one-on-one?
Acts 2:38. Let the truth be told.
John 4:23. He is seeking a seeker.
John 3:20. Say no to normal.

The only thing some of us may be able to beat NBA players in is a free throw shooting contest vs the likes of Dwight Howard etc.. Even then some might crumble under the pressure and be worse than Dwight.
