I like Faried and all but we gonna pretend he didn't just hack up Joakim's whole shoulder and upper arm before finally getting to the ball?

Thibs is quiet on the sideline. That's not good. He might kill somebody on the team plane.Comment

Re: 2/5-2/10 Games Discussion Thread.
Moving forward, as long as Shaq works as an analyst on national tv his contracts should all have something in them banning him from talking about Dwight Howard since he can't objectively do it. He should be forced to leave the set and sit in a small sound proof room by himself until the Dwight discussions are done.
That is all.Comment

I feel as if sometimes Shaq's only trying to help him, but in a tough love kind of way, but Dwight refuses because he's such a little girl sometimes... a Barbie girl in a Barbie world man.Comment

Re: 2/5-2/10 Games Discussion Thread.
i disagree with folks saying that kobe shouldnt use the media to lit a fire under dwight.
1. how do we know that kobe didnt talk to dwight directly, maybe that didnt/isnt work(ing). maybe it fell on deaf ears. maybe getting dwight to understand the direness of the situation will not work 1 on 1. because maybe dwight doesnt care what you have to say in 1 on 1 situations. but if you tell the world, well then maybe dwight cares enough to get motivated.
kobe alreay told us that dwight cares too much what everybody thinks of him. so why wouldnt that be a viable tactic here.
-------------
now if anyone listened to dwights interview with sager after the game, and im sure everybody seen it. he was asked directly how his shoulder felt out on the court. and his response was "I felt alittle pain; I felt pain in my shoulder a couple times out there tonight."
im sorry, but thats doesnt scream i shouldnt have been playing tonight.
thats not the type of response thats going to get sympathy from me thats says this guy shouldnt be out there. if his shoulder is so jacked that he was willing to miss however many more games, than i need a better response than that.
say what you want about kobe's tactics. the main issue here isnt about dwights toughness. its about dwight's complete lack of understanding of the firestorm that is coming if this team doesnt even make the playoffs. and there is enough blame that will fall on his head that he should have that sense of urgency.
laker's basketball is like alabama football; it is serious business. in all other major sports markets where sports talk is heavy, they talk every sport, esp NFL football.
but in LA they talk Lakers all yr round. look how good of a season the clippers are having, and they get no run at all on the LA sports talk radio.
so take whatever shots at kobe tactics to motivate dwight, but please lets not give dwight a pass for anything because from the very beginning he has not taken the season nearly as serious as the situation demanded.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone

Re: 2/5-2/10 Games Discussion Thread.
so all the times that kobe was passing in the 1st half, where every lakers was missing wide open shots (mostly 3s) provided to them by kobe's passing off of hs iso post up moves; is that the kobe that you grew up hating to?
kobe was definately more into score mode than assist mode, but seriously at what point do we start holding professional athletes responsisble for hitting open shots they are paid to be hitting?
i just hate the propaganda involved in comments like this...Last edited by TajDeni; 02-08-2013, 08:10 AM.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone

I think it's a cop out to blame the teammates, When Kobe was getting those assists a lot of the time he found his teammates of cuts to the baskets. Every time the Lakers would cut Kobe kept it to himself yesterday.Comment

lol, Dwight himself said that Kobe didn't talk directly to him about it so that answers that.
I think it's a cop out to blame the teammates, When Kobe was getting those assists a lot of the time he found his teammates of cuts to the baskets. Every time the Lakers would cut Kobe kept it to himself yesterday.
then its also a cop out to not hold other players responsible for not hitting shots.
there is enough blame to go around. but i watch the game just like you and i can name plenty of times espn in the 1st half where kobe did make plays and where kobe did pass the ball and nobody hit any shots. but folks just wanna gloss over that part of the equation.
meeks, mwp, jamison..etc. guys missed ALOT of wide open shots off of kobe passes.
my point is assist are a 2 way street not a 1 way street. thats why i said your comments as you stated them were propagandaLast edited by TajDeni; 02-08-2013, 08:26 AM.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone

Dwight is the wrong person to call out in the media.
He's not the type of guy that responds like that. He's the "take my ball and go home" player.
With each interview you can see the disdain that Dwight and Kobe have for each other multiply by about 10.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

if thats true then ok. but that doesnt mean that tactic isnt viable with respects to dwight.
then its also a cop out to not hold other players responsible for not hitting shots.
