I think ESPN/ABC/TNT could learn somethings from WGN

While watching the Bulls-Knicks game on WGN last night, I loved some of the presentation things they did that made me feel a part of the game. The announcer's sucked, but here are some things I would love to see the networks do.

    1. Televise a bit of the warmups. I felt like I was in the United Center when I saw the two teams run out for warmups. They then showed the layup lines, etc. while the announcers talked about the game (instead of showing two bald guys talking about crap).

    2. Televise the national anthem and starting lineups. This is why the networks break away for the latest shoe commercial (I know to pay the bills). But, again, I felt I was there by seeing the national anthem and then the starting lineups for BOTH teams, including the Bull's video intro.

    3. Leave the Coaches' mics on during the game. WGN didn't have a "sound of the game" or that crap. They just simply left the coaches' microphone on. I liked hearing what Skiles said to get the technical and Lenny working the officials. Good work by the sound director.

    4. None of the [censored] theme music when you come back from the commerical. I know ABC likes to play the latest Rap song and showing some fan's titties when coming back from commerical, however, I liked WGN's coming back from commerical, they took you inside the Bull's huddle and you caught the last 5-10 sec. of the huggle convo or you heard one of the players talking to the ref about a call.

Those are my ideas, some old school, some just to make the fan feel like he is in a seat.

Ever since I started watching the NBA, I have always complained that every station should televise the starting lineups. I dont know why, but I love it when they televise them

Yes, he got hit in the head with the ball and I noticed no difference. I guess he didn't have anything to lose up there!
