Im not arguing it, because this isnt the first time and wont be the last and we all know it.

I don't think the league cares enough about the integrity in the fans minds to correct all of the things they can as much as they do about $$$$ signs.
I wasn't speaking about the inconsistency part. When I referenced his post I was moreso speaking about this particular part

Personally, I often find officiating issues to be overstated. I am surprised to see such a high number of folks who believe the Heat/Lakers/Knicks/Bucks/Wizards/Magic/Spurs/entire NBA are teams who officials are out to ensure win/lose/draw/please David Stern. It's a little much.

To meet people halfway though, I do think there's bad calls. However, not nearly as often as it seems when visiting the internet/bar/anywhere featuring folks who are ready to say anything out loud about a game at any given time so as to either criticize their opponent or excuse their team's shortcomings.
And again people, can we not make this thread about the Lakers.

This "gem" of officiating happened at a key point in the Spurs' loss last night against the Heat...

Maybe more players should just start falling on the floor when a defender is near them? It worked for Norris Cole and the heat.

I still don't agree with him because we all know teams with star players and high $$$ impact gets favorable treatment, and have been for years.

The players, coaches, even guys like Phil, Pat Riley, JVG, etc have all had their say in the matter to the degree they could.

OKC gets more absurd calls & bailouts than the Heat or Lakers....strange to me how it's never really brought up or even spoken on during game threads....it's to the point I'm starting not to enjoy watching them...

It would have been nice if the officials would have called a foul on Dahntay Jones a couple of weeks ago when Kobe rolled his ankle.
And here is the problem still. Nobody gives a damn about that being a foul to anybody else but since it happened to Kobe we'll be hearing about this **** and how unfair it is he didn't get the call for the rest of our lives. I'm still sitting here patiently waiting for just one, just ONE other person to even attempt to pretend to point out that Kirk Hinrich did the exact same thing to Mario Chalmers Wednesday night right out on that little narrow *** space between the three point line and the sideline and the refs didn't call a foul. Nobody anywhere has said one damn word about it and it was a national game so I know everybody saw it. However Mario didn't roll his ankle and his name isn't Kobe so it's all good.

I remember Mr. Donaghy told us the Mavericks have absolutely no chance against the Heat & officials....'Arison has Sterns cell phone number'

Then he picks Dallas....OMG he was right!

To answer this question simply, as long as there is money involved, no it won't improve.

I've said it before, between Westbrook being able to throw himself at the basket and get calls and Durant getting everything, that's a big part of what makes the Thunder offense so hard to guard.

Some of the fouls that Westbrook gets are just silly.

Re: Do You Think Officiating Will Ever Improve?

There is a pecking order in the NBA and I'm pretty sure the players and coaches are all familiar with. Its the reason why Superstars complain about calls and rookies and 1 year vets often say nothing until they earn the right to complain.

Players who are known for "turning it up" in crunch time all depend on the refs whistles at some point or another to get into a rhythm. Its pretty noticeable when it backfires with the players cause they throw temper tantrums when things dont go their way.

As for the overall season in the NBA, I believe there is an agenda set and there are only a few teams the league wants to send to the finals for ratings and marketing puproses. Nothing in this world suprises me anymore as being produced privately behind the scenes. The draft..nothing!!

The worst ones are when KD drives and just throws his head back....it's incredibly annoying...
