I don't know if JR changes the game that much in this half. Maybe it's not a 19 pt deficit but you can't expect to be in the game when you shoot 29% from the field and the opposing team shoots over 50%.

Before that run, the game was seven. So Boston finally took advantage of what was happening on the court.

They also just look more alive. Knicks playing like a team that doesn't need to try. They should be valuing rest for old knees.

If it was any time for Carmelo to go into a shooting slump he picked a pretty good time to (As far as not having JR). He can't get any worse after this game.

Blame it on Woodson? I don't think Rivers is doing too much of anything differently its just that without JR out there its easier to focus in on Carmelo, who is 3/15 and is forgetting about his teammates.

      Melo has trust issues.

I'm not blaming Woodson as much as I'm applauding Rivers for making adjustments.

Rivers has put Bass exclusively on Melo and it has changed the numbers drastically. Green tried but wasn't gonna be a 48 minute factor against Carmelo.

Woodson decided to play Richardson during an important stretch in the first instead of Copeland. The idea of playing a guy who came on the last week of the season over a player he used all season and has shown he can play is asinine.

Boston has done away with bait and switch tactics - trying to get the Knicks into mismatches defensively so Pierce can shoot over a smaller defender - and instead has run more screens like the ones that worked for Bradley in three games, and setting up shooters at the corners for any dish outs on those plays.

That alone has freed up Pierce along the top of the key so he can have more space and has created more shot opportunities for Terry inside and Pierce beyond the arc.

Not to mention the space it gives Green to continue slashing straight down the middle.

Another issues I see is Woodson still refusing to adjust to the game when it's clear the other team is using their size and winning. Why not play Martin and Chandler together?

He has Camby. But he refuses to play him.

Pierce is in full control of this game, amazing because I still have no idea how he does it, he is so slow!

Game is changing with Boston having to sit the guys guarding Melo.
