Hmm....go check the poll on ESPN's site for a good laugh. 57% of the people Carmelo is more deserving of an All Star spot than LeBron. Go check the stats. LeBron is winning in pretty much every stat category except for rebounds, which he is only trailing by 0.2 REB's.

They meant that as in Carmelo was more deserving of a west spot, than Lebron was of a east spot. Carmelo shouldve made it over Kirilenko. In the east, there are too many good guards to say Lebron should've made it over him. Fact is, there are more all stars than roster spots, and while Lebron and Melo deserve to be there, so do the players who were selected. Theres no selection where you can flat out say "he shouldn't be there"

Theres no way the Cavs would be playing the type of ball there are now, the needed to gel to perform like this. Everyone has a hot run, and thats where bron is right now. He'll settle down and His ppg will stay at the 20 ppg mark.

well some of all are saying redd deserved it, and then saying CAN'T ARGUE, but have you compared his numbers with LeBrons

            LJ 20.8ppg 5.9rpg 5.9apg 1.48spg .70bpg
            MR 22.1ppg 5.1rpg 2.3apg 1.04spg .06bg

so whos having the better season

You forgot the biggest "stat" of them all... Redd's Bucks are 26 and 21 while LeBron's Cavs are 19 and 29... just ask Colts/Titans fans if they would rather have MVP seasons for their QB's or the final result by a guy who doesn't put up "numbers" (Brady of the Pats)

Nance, with all due respect, team performance isn't an issue with the All-Star teams. If it were, then McGrady wouldn't be close to being an all-star. Being an All-Star, is who is the better player. In this case, I feel that Lebron is a whole lot better. I am glad that Redd made it, because he has been patient the past few years, and learning the game behind Payton, Allen, and Cassell, and he is playing good basketball. Better than Lebron? No, I don't think so, but I do think he is deserving of the vote, but it shouldn't have been at the expense of a better player.

After I posted that I thought of the same arguement of "individual performance over team accomplishment" and agree that the All-Star games have to be based on individual performance or players on bad teams would get hosed and role players on good teams would deserve to get in (that's just on the basis of my prior post)... I thought that LeBron should go I just wanted to see Redd get some credit for his season so far (me being a homer)... now that LeBron said that he doesn't want to play second banana, I think he should sit up and take notice of what some of this year's All-Stars have gone through to get to Los Angeles... hate to use Redd again as an example, but this is a guy who wasn't even on the active roster when he got into the NBA and who was caught behind Ray Allen... but through hard work and determination he has made it... this isn't a rip on LeBron, just think he and Carmello can learn something from these players
