    Why Don't NBA Players...

... shot full court shots in the dying seconds of quarters in the playoffs? It makes absolutely no sense because it doesn't count against their regular season stats, which is what people usually look at, and it just shows u don't care about winning. Whether its true or not that you don't care doesn't matter because that's what it looks like. Last night IN GAME 7, CJ Watsom got the ball with one second left after a Boozer dunk at the end of the third, and he dribbled the clock out when he could have shot it because he had the look. Does this drive anyone else wild?
    Kevin Garnett is innocent.

They ain't got no time for that.

But, yes it does drive me wild. Might as well heave it up and try. At least that is how I always played.

...Shoot bank-shot freethrows? Well at least some players, eg Faried, Howard, Igoudala, and others with deplorable percentages.

I'd like to see a rule that any shot over a certain distance... say 28-30 feet taken with < 3 seconds on the game clock should not count against you if it misses. As for why they don't; they haven't been doing it for the other 82 games, so they probably aren't too focused on doing it in the playoffs. A rule like that would encourage it.

I didn't see the C.J. Watson play but typically, I feel as though most players let loose on those last second shots in the playoffs, unless they have absolutely no angle or momentum prior to the horn.

I'd be curious what shot attempts are truly counted against one's field goal percentage and what ones aren't. I feel as though the 70 foot attempts that do not come within 20 feet of the goal are not counted against the player. That said, I can't see shots that have any kind of chance not being counted as attempts.

How many missed last-second shots would be needed actually have a significant, negative impact on a player's FG%? The Heat just passed up a chance with 1 second left in the first half--i'm guessing that Lebron was more concerned with why the score is tied at 37, than with his FG%.

Totally random and unscientific but, if LeBron James had taken at least one additional crazy end-of-quarter shot per game this season and missed them all (82 attempts in total), it would have dropped his field goal percentage about 3 points, from 56% to around 53%. I support firing that shot at the end of the quarter whenever a player gets the chance, but I just thought I'd share a small, random example.

But remember that LeBron commercial 10 years ago or so where he drilled like 10 full-court shots in a row?

(Yes, I know it was fake.)

                EDIT: This one...

Unfortunately, I remember my 8th graders thinking that was real, then believing me when I told them a parquet floor means there's butter spread beneath to aide in court construction and to combat condensation.

@VD that's hilarious about the 8th graders. That's what I meant though, who is in the position to and shoots and misses enough of said shots to actually have an impact?
