Durant donates $1 Million to help Moore tornado victims
Title says it all. In response to yesterday's tornado just outside of OKC, Kevin Durant donated $1,000,000 to help the victims recover. You can expect the rest of the Thunder as well as the NBA to help out as well since the NBA is the only major pro sport that has a team in Oklahoma City. Thoughts?Last edited by RoundingThird; 05-21-2013, 03:39 PM.Red Sox|Patriots|Celtics|UConnTags: None -

Always nice to come to a board featuring logical responses. I've been to a few other sites this day with people claiming $1 million isn't that much to Durant, thus the gesture being cheapened. I saw a few others chastise him for not going the Ted Danson route and donating as "anonymous" (even though Durant himself did not release this news).
Anyway, sorry to bring that in here. Great, great gesture on Durant's part.Comment

There are honestly no words you can use to describe Kevin Durant. I'm surprised we don't see anymore of this from players, especially with how much money they make and how much the "NBA Cares", guys talk a good game on those commercials haha. Good people helping good people, Kevin Durant will always have my respect, I give him a standing ovation.Comment

I'm glad Durant's donation was made public. More light needs to be shined on things like this. I'd even be fine if he went on National TV and said he made the donation. Challenge others to do the same. Props to him.Comment

Re: Durant donates $1 Million to help Moore tornado victims
Why are people acting this doesn't happen on a regular basis? There are multiple guys in the league (at least 1 guy on every team) who give back to the community they grew up in, donate to a foundation, and/or help out with relief efforts.
You have only yourself to blame for reading what's only put in front of you.Comment

Do you want me to keep posting more examples? Or have I proved my point yet?
Not only that, but I was referring to the posters making (and liking) blanket statements of "I wish more NBA players did this". UGH that statement makes me so gotdamn mad.Comment

Today KD drove around with the Red Cross in Moore to help people out. Had someone I know helping people next to KD. I may trash him on the court, but I greatly respect him off the court."To the last minute, to the last second, to the last man, we fight"Comment
