Re: NBA Draft Day Trades You'd Like to See
Cats not moving out that 4 spot. They will have a chance at Oladipo, Len, McLemore, Porter or Noel. Dropping to 7 erases all 5 of those guys.Comment

Re: NBA Draft Day Trades You'd Like to See
The bad draft stuff is over used. This is a draft were teams are just going to take who they want. Len and Oladipo will be gone by 7. Hell Dion Waiters went number 3. Teams are in love Oladipo.

im not saying they are...but the people saying its bad value wise to move from 4 to 7 to get tristan thompson, one of the better defensive rebounders is kind of hilariousComment

Re: NBA Draft Day Trades You'd Like to See
It's not a bad move for Charlotte; it would be for some teams though. Despite all the talk about this being a weak draft (another debate for another time) there really is one player at each position clearly better than anyone else at that position in this draft. Moving down from 4 to 7 would mean you lose your shot at any of them. The thing with Charlotte, however, is that they don't have a desperate need for any one position - they have desperate needs at every position. Getting Thompson upgrades PF and still leaves them with a shot at Len (who would likely be the best player left at 7).Comment

Re: NBA Draft Day Trades You'd Like to See
I like the reasoning for both teams. Remember last year when the Pistons traded Ben Gordon along with a future 1st to the Bobcats just to dump his salary? Well they saved around $11 million this past season. If they completed your proposed Marion trade, it would be just like Gordon's expiring deal and they're getting a 1st round pick back.
End result: They saved around $11 million and still got their pick back. Now that would be management.
Oh and I absolutely think Cleveland would give up all four picks. Last year they hated having all those picks, which is why they traded them to Dallas to move up for Zeller.Comment

Re: NBA Draft Day Trades You'd Like to See
The Cavs would also since Cousins could walk when his contract is up and the Cavs lost TT and all those picks for a undersized PF. I don't care of him being undersized tell you the truth, but the fact that the Cavs giving up a proven double double guy for a guy that's not even proven yet is insane.Comment

They used their late first round pick and two early 2nd round picks to move up to get Zeller from the MAVS because they needed a future center. Like I said before the Cavs won't give up all their picks for a guy that has attitude problems and could leave the organization when his contract is up.

Re: NBA Draft Day Trades You'd Like to See
I'm all for cap space but I think you are missing one technicality that not everyone is aware of: if Dallas trades their 2013 1st round pick to Detroit, OKC also has Dallas' 2014 1st round pick. There is a rule stating a team must have at least one 1st round pick in back to back season. Detroit would have to replace the second round they give Dallas with a 2014 1st. That may not be desirable for Detroit though.Comment

Re: NBA Draft Day Trades You'd Like to See
with more then 2 rookies more like it. Chris Grant who is the Cavs GM and other GMs in the League like to get as many picks as they can.. why? They bundle the picks to trade up or to make a trade. No team is going to draft a crap load of rookies and have a college team. To the other guy any report you see about the Cavs has to be taken with a grain of salt especially with Chris Grant as the GM. All the guys he drafted are out of the blue are never what mock drafts say. He always mentions he's building the team through the draft and trade since Cleveland can't really get any FA worth a damn. The team will continue to see more rookies and probably only 1 from the 4 draft picks from this supposedly weak draft.Comment

Re: NBA Draft Day Trades You'd Like to See
Too lazy to check if it would work, but I think a trade package revolving around OKC's 12th pick and Afflalo of ORL would benefit both teams. Thunder would get stronger at the 2 guard and don't really need another young prospect to draft since they're competing for the championship. ORL on the other hand gets to shed Afflalo's contract which would help them do a complete rebuild.
OKC:
Westbrook
Afflalo or Sefolosha
Durant
Ibaka
Perk
ORL:
Nelson/Schroeder? (12th pick)
McLemore
Harkless
Harris
