Apparently the NBA isn't going to allow them to be traded to the Clippers, so they'd have to be bought out or something to have a chance at ending up there.NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

So they won't let them trade to the Clippers lol. But they will allow them to be brought out and then signed by the Clippers... Now that's a joke!Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Doc Rivers to Clippers for an unprotected 2015 pick
Won't let them go to the Clippers because it will look like Doc was traded, which he wasnt. The pick was compensation for Doc. If they are bought out and signed by the Clippers, the Celtics have no part in it so its not a trade therefore its allowed. I think Pierce ends up with the Rockets and KG stays. We have definitely seen more shocking things in the NBA.Kevin Garnett is innocent.Comment

Re: Doc Rivers to Clippers for an unprotected 2015 pick
Rockets have prettt much no interest in anyone not named Dwight right now. There's no way we would want Pierce (with Parsons on board) as his contract would shipwreck our cap room. We're trying to give away not add on at the moment.Comment

Re: Doc Rivers to Clippers for an unprotected 2015 pick
you know guys, even if KG/PP are bought out/traded/amnestied and play on another team they can still sign that 1day contract next off season and retire in boston.
we REALLY need to get rid of pierce though, and by doing that KG will either retire or ask to be moved, he really only wants to play with pierce and wants to be on a contender.
ainge has to find a way to get us josh smith or demarcus cousins ^^Comment

Re: Doc Rivers to Clippers for an unprotected 2015 pick
I don't understand why Paul Pierce is being looked at to be moved before Kevin Garnet. Yes he makes more money, but it's only for a year. Kevin Garnett has 2 years left.
I'd like to see Memphis go after Pierce. Not sure what they can offer, but he'd be a decent fit there.Comment

Re: Doc Rivers to Clippers for an unprotected 2015 pick
Gotta love the ESPN folk. Trade canned last week "Oh that's why they're the Clippers! They'll never get anywhere! They're idiots! Sterling won't pay!" and now "Small improvement. Still need a better roster."
Not that I keep up with the NBA much after that strike nonsense but I thought they would've been fool to trade Jordan so now they've got both.
There was also an odd situation with Aaron McKie as an assistant coach of the 76ers being traded by the Lakers to the Grizz: http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/pos...uld-get-tradedComment

Re: Doc Rivers to Clippers for an unprotected 2015 pick
Technically yes, but having an offseason thread in the offseason is pretty stupid. So much stuff happens here and there that the forum would just end up with one crosstalk mega-thread. What's next a "season" thread in the actual season? Major things should have their own thread. It's not as if this place gets enough traffic to push anything to page 2.
As for the 2015 pick I think I get it. Pretty much any coach should get two years to prove themselves. In two years if whoever they hire doesn't work out well they can make a big hire in two years, and possibly trade up a slot or two in that draft, or just have 2 first round picks. Really though 2014 vs. 2015 doesn't matter a whole lot for the Celtics. They're going to suck for the next year or two anyway I guess Ainge feels like they'll bottom out this year, get a little bit better next year, and maybe couple those picks to move up in the draft. That's my best guess.
Yes
Thanks CelticPride for the heads up by the way...
No matter how "stupid" it may seem, this coaching change has been discussed ad naseum in 2 other threads already so just move it there.....Comment
