What if NBA players played for their hometown teams?

What would teams like the Bucks, Wizrds, Lakers, or Magic look like?

Off the top of my head.. the Pacers would have Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Eric Gordon, Zach Randolph, George Hill(already have him), Gordon Hayward, Tyler Zeller, the Teague brothers and that's all I can think of right now.

I guess we can also include this years draft so we'd also have Cody Zeller. Unfortunately no Oladipo since he's from Maryland.

No real superstars and that's surprising for as many great high school players that come out of Indiana. Although if we were talking about all time then we'd have Larry Bird and Oscar Robertson.

          EDIT:

Starting 5 would look something like:

          Mike Conley
          Eric Gordon
          Gordon Hayward
          Zach Randolph
          Cody Zeller

I don't know about Zeller starting right away and I also think he'll end up playing more at the 4 in the NBA anyway, but unless Oden is fully healthy there's no one else to play center aside from Tyler Zeller.

I don't know about the bench situation. Jeff Teague would definitely backup Conley and George Hill would be the 2nd 2 guard. Oden would backup Zeller. After that I don't know since we don't have another SF or PF. Guess Tyler Zeller can play at the 4 behind Randolph?

Either way it wouldn't be a bad team. I like the current Pacers squad better though. lol

You could add a couple more bench players in Courtney Lee and Josh McRoberts along with end of the bench high five guys in Miles Plumlee, E'Twaun Moore and Jared Jeffries.

Also, along with Zeller in the draft there is Mason Plumlee and Deshaun Thomas as well.

Conley and Jeff Teague would be a vast improvement over what the Pacers currently had this past season at PG. Randolph and West would probably be a push. George Hill would obviously be the same. Still I wouldn't trade this team hometown team for the current Pacers, but the bench would be better not like that would be a hard thing not to improve on.

Not exactly home city, but close enough isn't it....Bobcats/Hornets(Charlotte) would get all the UNC and USC guys wouldn't they?

lol, thankfully sports never went down that route where guys were only allowed to play for their hometown city(and ONLY if their hometown city didn't have a team, they were allowed to play for other teams). Can imagine just how different sports would've been if like 100-150 years ago, that's the rule that was decided and was kept ever since.

I'm guessing Raptors would get all Canadian players then lol, best of Canada still wouldn't be enough to compete in NBA sadly lol.

                Dwight Howard
                Josh Smith
                Al-Farouq Aminu
                Jae Crowder
                Andrew Goudelock
                J.J. Hickson
                Jodie Meeks
                Jordan Hill
                Toney Douglas
                Lou Williams

LOT of size on this team...would love to see something like this where guys play on their hometown teams during the summer

                  Lakers have a nice squad.

                  PG: Russell Westbrook
                  SG: James Harden
                  SF: Paul Pierce
                  PF: Brook Lopez
                  C: Tyson Chandler

Not everyone is from LA but California in general.

The Pelicans would be pretty bad, off the top of my head players from the area:

                      Glen Davis
                      Marcus Thornton
                      DJ Augustin
                      Danny Granger
                      Greg Monroe
                      Brandon Bass
                      Paul Millsap

All time you could thrown Karl Malone in there
Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, Lightning

Just doing colleges, Oklahoma's starting 5 would be:

                        PG: John Lucas
                        SG: Tony Allen
                        SF: James Andersen
                        PF: Blake Griffin
                        C: Jerome Jordan

                        Could probably beat the Bobcats
"To the last minute, to the last second, to the last man, we fight"

                          PF: Carl Landry

With Joe Wolf as the Head Coach, with Nick Van Exel and Tony Bennett as assistants.

If this was the case, Latrell Spreewell might come back to pay off his 3.5 million in back taxes.
