Rudy Gay is a Bmore dude and isn't Hibbert from Queens?

This thread reminds me of a similar one that was made a few years ago by some poster from Seattle who swore they produced the greatest group of ball players ever. That was a fun thread.

Exactly Bmore and DMV is WAY different. Far as Hibbert goes he's from Maryland was born in Queens. My extended family(aunts and uncles you never see lol). Are Hibbert's immediate fam there from Queens he's not.

PG County alone could basically field it's own starting 5.

But yeah, I know we don't claim Melo or any Bmore dudes. They can have them dudes.

lol, thankfully sports never went down that route where guys were only allowed to play for their hometown city(and ONLY if their hometown city didn't have a team, they were allowed to play for other teams). Can imagine just how different sports would've been if like 100-150 years ago, that's the rule that was decided and was kept ever since.

I'm guessing Raptors would get all Canadian players then lol, best of Canada still wouldn't be enough to compete in NBA sadly lol.
not exactly... most of the UNC guys are all-americans and not from either of the Carolinas

I feel like Canada should just get all of the international players then... and be BEASTS
just to make it fair.. it might be unfair but whatever
                      would be interesting

Curry may have been born in Ohio, but he was only there for less than a year... he's a Charlotte raised boy.

Jordan moved out of NYC when he was a toddler and was raised in North Carolina but if you want to take credit for NY its on you I guess.

This is the second time I've seen a NY team with Jordan on it, and no. Just no.

We're talking "hometown" not birth place.

If 100 people ask Michael Jordan where his home town is, 100 times he's going to say Wilmington, NC.

Same goes for guys listing Stephen Curry on the Ohio team.

Now, for my home state, let's see what I can comprise.

                                PG - Raymond Felton
                                SG - Alex English
                                SF - Xavier McDaniel
                                PF - Kevin Garnett
                                C - Jermaine O'Neal

Crazy to think that Jermaine O'Neal & Kevin Garnett were both supposed to go to the University of South Carolina, along with McDonald's All-American B.J. McKie, but neither O'Neal or Garnett could get in.

Carolina went the NCAA Tournament each of the next 2 seasons, even without them, as a #2 seed in 1997 and #3 seed in 1998

Bench - Larry Nance, Ramon Sessions, Tyrone Corbin, Jim Barnett, Trevor Booker, and for sentimental reasons, Harold Jamison, who my mom taught at Holly Hill Roberts High School
