Re: Dwyane Wade actually better than Kobe ?
Yes, kash my point is that it is much much closer than it would appear looking just at their FG%, isn't it? And FG% and OREB appeared to be Wade's only major advantages. Now it's just OREB.Comment

Re: Dwyane Wade actually better than Kobe ?
No not really, Kobe would have to have really out shoot Wade to even get a tied with Wade at this point.Comment

Re: Dwyane Wade actually better than Kobe ?
LeBron and Kobe also have better overall basketball skills than Wade. Prine Wade was better at playing the passing lane but in his heyday Kobe could do a good job of neutering top offensive threats. Wade's physical gifts were a lot better than Bryant's yet he hasn't aged as well as he has. Bryant is arguably at worst a top 20 player to ever play, Wade not so much. It's a testament to Bryant for his sustained longevity yet this season post winter we see Wade basically implode before our eyes even with injuries (his postseason run save maybe 3-4 games were ATROCIOUS).Comment

Re: Dwyane Wade actually better than Kobe ?
Just saying, that happened. This thread shouldn't have survived for this reason. That's as nice a thing Kash will ever say about Kobe. The thread should have ended on that note.
Then this happened. Not saying what he said here is true or not, but we all knew it was coming. He said something nice about Kobe, so of course he had to come back with a negative. We had an obligation to save Kash from Kash on that one.Comment

Re: Dwyane Wade actually better than Kobe ?
a player, in this case wade's, talent can be so off the chart that it actually can hide a players lack of elite level skillsets. it is only after father time start to strip away at a players talent level that we can know for certain what a players true skill level is/was. or we simply just find out that said player was living off of supreme talent his entire career.
ppl forget that kobe as already had and been playing thru wade's current knee injury (bone on bone) for atleast 3 seasons now. and yet while wade is on the court performing like a shell of himself, kobe is still operating at superstar level.
plus folks always seem to forget that kobe has played since 2008 with a mangled pinking finger on his shooting hand, that he had to re-construct his shooting form on the fly to compensate. ppl overlook this amazing feat because kobe never missed any games due to it; but the facts are that kobe shot the lakers to back2back championships w/ a mangled shooting hand as a #1 scoring option jump shooter.
but back to my point on wade, now that wade cant out athletic his opponents anymore, where is his game at? its falling off a cliff fast, thats where. while i think its safe to say that even with a torn achilles heel injury, most ppl still expect kobe to be playing atleast on par or at an even higher level than wade in the 2013-2014 season.
wade was on dan patrick yesterday and dan asked wade, if he planned to change up his game going forward in his career. wades response was that he's gonna continue to play his same attacking style game and when he no longer feels he can play his game, he'll just retire.
whereas when we see kobe again this will be the 5th version of his game we will have seen in his 17yr career:
1. shaq era kobe
2. shaq leaving completely unstoppable 1-man offense kobe
3. #24 championship kobe
4. oldman game - jump shooting/post up kobe
5. post achilles injury kobe (unknown at the moment)
and thru all these different versions and after 17 completed seasons in the books, and not once in the last 15yrs since hes been a starter has kobe's game ever fallen off of superstar level. and thats because kobe has a surplus of true skill to fall back on. and thats because even when he was in his athletic prime, he never skipped over any steps; these steps being the foundational steps of being a truly fundalmentally sound basketball player. im sorry, and i respect you guys right to disgee, but the depth of wades skill level simply does not run that deep and it never will.
i rest my case for now, until i need to call my next witness to the stand to testify...me!Last edited by TajDeni; 06-25-2013, 12:15 PM.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone

Re: Dwyane Wade actually better than Kobe ?
I'm not, it's simple math. Kobe has played over a 1200ish games, with Wade playing over 600ish. Kobe's career ts% is .555 and Wade's is .567. In order for Kobe to tie with Wade, Either Kobe is going to have to really shoot much better than Wade or Wade has to have a really terrible year to bring his % down or even a combination of both.Comment

Re: Dwyane Wade actually better than Kobe ?
I posted something similar to this in an older thread that got locked up. So I'll break it down again.
Kobe Bryant had the God's honest potential to be one of the greatest basketball player to ever live when coming into the league. He always had the skills to back it up but there was one thing that held him back and it was himself. Everything always had to be done Kobe's way or no way throughout the majority of his career. It Is Kobe's fault that he doesn't have more championships right now because He ran Shaq out of town. It is Kobe's fault he has a low shooting percentage because he has been known to jack up terrible shots. I have said this time and time again Kobe Never properly used the Triangle offense because if he did His stats would be better then what we see right now.
Phil Jackson even said it himself, and I quote
"Kobe tends to force the action, especially when the game isn't going his way. When his shot is off, Kobe will pound away relentlessly until his luck turns."
Kobe for the vast majority of his career was always about taking as many shots as possible so he could try to run up his point total. He didn't care how bad the shots were He was going to keep firing away. Hell we have seen him do it this past season as well. It doesn't matter if he's triple teamed he will take some convoluted shot that has no chance of going in.
Talent and Work Ethic wise, It think it's very difficult to find someone better. However Kobe only has himself to blame for not having better overall statistics.Last edited by 24; 06-25-2013, 03:50 PM.

It's like I've said before. Even though I don't like him. I'm fair.Comment

Re: Dwyane Wade actually better than Kobe ?
Not even close, but you don't really believe that anyway. It's really easy to take one side of the earth and call it a planet. (I just made that up)
You spent so much time analasing his flaws than they appear bigger to you than they really are. It's like when you think about Kobe you see him taking a contested fade away three.
Hmm wait... So do I lol.
Yeah Kobe has flaws, he's not that perfect basketball player like the other guy. Deal with it.Last edited by Vni; 06-25-2013, 03:48 PM.Comment

I kind of agree with this but it wasn't apparent that He had this type of potential early on. If so He probably would've been drafted in the top 3 don't you think?Comment

Re: Dwyane Wade actually better than Kobe ?
That's what I've been doing right. Just don't claim that you're fair, when, when you're talking about him you're talking about his flaws 98% of the time. You might be fair within yourself but that's not how you appear to be to the rest of the world.
Think about it. And yeah, that gets annoying at times but it's not like you cared... Obviously.Comment
