Well if you're looking at their entire careers I really don't think it's close.

I'm not sure if the OP is referring to their careers, their "peaks", or basing it on them currently as in how good they are right now.

I left Wade out of my top 5 judging by his career.. If you're looking at just their "peak" or at their very best whatever you want to call it I could easily see why somebody could pick Wade or pick Kobe. They were both two of the best shoot guards I've ever watched, they dominated in different ways..

If you're comparing just how good they are right now, assuming we're judging by last season I think it's a tough call.. Kobe's defense now is maybe mediocre, he's shown he can still score the ball but his ability to run the offense looked pretty terrible this past year.. While Wade, before his knee issues in the playoffs, was still a good defender both on ball and in the Heats swarming system.. He also had his most efficient year yet shooting the ball.. And in my opinion he fits his teammates better, he can lead an offense better..

So if you were asking which player was better at their very best I think it's a close call, if you ask which was better last season I think it's a close call. I wouldn't argue with someone for choosing either or..

But looking at their careers I don't think Wade is close.. That's probably why I had Kobe at number 2 on my all time list while Wade was I think at 7.. I can't remember where I put him.

Kobe, The Scorer, The Black Mamba VS Dwayne Wade, The Slasher, The Flash

You'd be better of comparing Manu and Wade or Kobe and Ray Ray..

Hard to compare players who started in different eras, who play completely different

Umm, Youngblood..... They play in the same era and arguably were at their peak at the same time.

Kobes success in his long career would beat dwade any day. Kobe's getting older and still doing what a player of his calibre should be doing.
