Re: It\'s gotta suck to be a Mavs fan

The only way the Mavs don't face the Lakers or the Spurs in the first round is if they find a way to move up to the third spot, and I find that very hard to believe. Even if they manage to get to 3, they may end up facing the Grizz, and that's no gimme. The Lakers, Kings and T-Wolves at full strength can knock off Dallas with ease. Hell, the Kings haven't had their best player all year and they have the best record in the league. The Lakers were 18-3 before the injury bug bit them. Minnesota has been getting better and better as the year goes on. And San Antonio is San Anontio, because they play playoff style basketball all year long. Barring a major injury to Shaq, Garnett, Webber or Duncan, the Mavs are done.

<hr /></blockquote><font class="post"> You sound pretty damn confident, so let's bet, and since you're so damned confident how about you give me 10 to 1 odds, let's bet $100 dollars, that means if I win you owe me $1000, but if you win you get $100. I mean you should jump at that bet since you're so confident it's an easy $100, right?

I don't have that false sense of hope in believing they are more than what they are. This team, as constructed, canNOT win it all. Best, Delk, Najera, who were expected to play key roles have been a disappointment. Nellie hardly even puts Fortson on the floor which stinks. This year has been a struggle. What I wouldn't give to have last year's team back, though i'm glad we were able to deal LaFrentz and his contract. Windows close rather quickly in the NBA. I think this team has about 1 or 2 more years with the nucleus that they have.

Lhayes, you still haven't learned. You and I went round and round about the mavs vs your kings last year, but after the playoffs you dissappeared. I remember when you were calling Keon Clark the mavs killer- lol. Where is this top notched free agent signing oh, management thought he was so gifted that they sent him to utah for a 2nd rounder!
Check this out: Mavs are 8-2 against the Kings,Lakers,Spurs, and T-wolves; the kings are 3-4 agaist the same collection of teams. I don't wanna hear about injuries are weed smoking suspensions because injuries happen to every team, and if Webber is injury prone than you have to accept that as part of the package.

What is really funny is how the Kings will always be the brides maid to the Lakers. Btw so will my Mavs and every other western team as long as the Lakers are healthy, but if they continue to injury plagued well into the playoffs I see no other team that the Mavs can't contend with. This type of talk is what really fuels the playoffs for the NBA. Let's keep the smack talk going, but don't get personal so the thread won't be locked
