Can't stand Lawler, he definitely turned a corner when the Clips started making noise a little before lob city and went full douche mode.

Also, I don't know how I feel about the crew using the term "CP Time"....(only some of you will get that, haha)

Ive been having this sneaking suspicion that houston is gonna struggle against upper echelon teams this year( with the exception of golden state). I think they can beat up on alot of the below 500 teams, and even the lower seeded teams in the east and west. But will struggle otherwise. I could be wrong though.

P.S. If i here "BANGO!" one more time, im going to lob my tv into the side of the clippers commentators head. I always have hated hearing him say that.smh

                I agree with that.

Their offense is just not that good and their perimeter defense below average. They also still have to figure out their starting line up. I'am not sure about that Asik Howard frontcourt.

Yea, defense is there biggest weakness. Plus if you notice just putting a really good post defender on howard down low is effective at keeping him somewhat at bay, alot like what dj is doing tonight. Those two things by themselves or together will hurt them against okc, sas, and the clippers in a 7 game series. the only team i hope they don't face though is gsw. Because houston has proven to be a bad matchup for gsw, and i really want to see them go far, and not get stopped in the 1st or 2nd round by houston. I think asik and howard will work well enough to serve there purpose though.

Why is that? They didn't have a problem with those teams last year. Not sure why it would be this year when they have improved their team.

Their defense was bad this game but it was just one of those games, wouldn't take too much from one game.

I shoudn't say their perimeter defense is below average, I should say it's average.

Overall I just don't think McHale is a championship coach.

What are you talking about? they struggled against better teams last year, they were nearly swept in alot of there season series against okc, spurs, nugs, and i think the clips(but not sure on that one). I believe both okc and the spurs blew them out more than once( i know the thunder did), and they wouldve been swept in the playoffs had westbrook not got hurt. I know this is just one game, but ive had this feeling for a little while now about this rockets team.

Nuggets were a horrible matchup for them.

They played the Heat closely. I remember Harden maybe having a Triple double for one of those games and just coming up short for his team...

                            Spurs blew them out once.

They had one of their best games against the Thunder in the regular season...lets not forget about the playoff series. As for Westbrook getting hurt or not, meh Rockets have had terrible history with playoff injuries. Oh well. People act like the Thunder were blowing the Rockets out when he was playing, they were not...Surely the injury impacted the series but injuries are part of the game. But game 2 was close even before Westbrook went out.

Most of these games were close games. You may have this feeling about it but I watch like 99% of their games. Their biggest issue last year was playing down to their competition if anything. Losing a game to a Twolves team I remember that had no Rubio, Love, or anyone really

This is not counting their record against the east's best teams like Chicago (who they beat twice, blew out once) Brooklyn, NYK, the Pacers were a really bad matchup for them as well as Paul George has Harden's number...and as mentioned before they have played the Heat tough.

So I wouldn't say they struggled against top teams, I would say they had a problem closing out games against them...but that could be expected for a team that was one of the youngest a year ago.

Rockets have high expectations, they have good players but they still play basketball like an average team. Way too much outside chucking, too much iso'ing and no true p'n'r game. To me they lack a true playmaker aswell. (Yeah yeah Harden is AWESOME at that... Whatever I just don't see it) Add to this an average perimeter defense and they're not, to me, realistically championships contenders.

If they want to get to that next step they will need a new coach.

Its way too early to say that. Harden and Howard will develop a chemistry on the pick and roll. The style of play wilk fix itself when they figure themselves out some more. Howard is a huuuuge piece to integrate into that team, it takes time. Remember the 7-8 Miami Heat? People expect too much too fast.

The perimeter D is a real problem, but its not a crushing issue. Worse has succeeded.

I fully expect them to figure out the starting 4 situation as well. Either with a trade, or internal improvement/shuffling.
