Whatever I just don't see it) Add to this an average perimeter defense and they're not, to me, realistically championships contenders.

If they want to get to that next step they will need a new coach.
I never know what people mean by this...do you mean as someone that sets up the offense...or a guy that just makes plays for the offense? Because it seems like some people mean playmaker like Nash or Paul setting up teammates...and some people mean playmaker like Kobe, making tough shots when the team needs it...

The Offense most times runs through Harden (Just look at usage stats) so I think he is a playmaker.

If you mean by a guy just making plays...making tough shots etc ala Kobe Bryant...Well Harden does a lot of that too. He's one of the best offensive players in the NBA since starting for the Rockets, his biggest knock in his game is his defense.

I don't like McHale's coaching style much either, but I honestly just trust that Morey sees something in him that no one else does or something.

Watching the end of this Cavs and Timberwolves game. Cavs/Brown go to LeIso (KyrIso?) on the two big end of game situations. Not a good look.

The perimeter D is a real problem, but its not a crushing issue. Worse has succeeded.

I fully expect them to figure out the starting 4 situation as well. Either with a trade, or internal improvement/shuffling.
I don't know I think that will be the ending of both these teams because they don't have offensive systems in place to get easy shots. The Clippers on the other hand have something working on their side. JJ Redick makes a world of a difference. I loved his defense on Harden (even though it was team effort). You just don't see them come down and run boring pick and roll every play.

Also I've seen a change in Iggy jumper since his time with Team USA. And it finally been shown off in a game. He could change the way teams defend him if he keeps knocking them down.

Just caught too many times ball watching. Got to know JJ Redick is going to moving around like that smh. Still don't think he's better than Kobe/Wade right now. Just think he's game needs some work. Med range/post up and focus on defense. I saw this article called " If Manu + Started = James Harden".

In his prime, Ginobili was a better player overall than Harden. He was way more seasoned player coming into the NBA - having played since a teen (I believe) overseas - and was/still is better on defense.

Kobe was just as poor defensively, last year. Out of the top three guys, Dwyane Wade is the only one who plays consistent defense.

I feel like MWP easily stripping Kemba, running the floor, and then just losing the ball out of bounds on an easy layup pretty much sums up the Knicks as a team.
