    Re: 2014 Draft Class

Outside of that 2 minute stretch where Jabari had 8-10 points, I thought he struggled pretty much the entire game lol. A lot of heavily contested jumpers with his foot on the line. Granted it was against Virginia, who is exceptional defensively, but yeah.

Whoever was defending him down the stretch was perfect for defending him. Strong enough that Jabari couldn't push him around, but athletic enough that Jabari couldn't get around him either.

^So basically every small forward he will be going against next year.

Cauley-Stein showed exactly why he will be a lottery pick. He has a ton of talent & potential.

Cauley-Stein didn't even start this game and his first few minutes were horrible.. He never blocks out and will be no longer be the biggest guy on the court when he hits the league.. Below average rebounder, and zero defensive discipline so he bites on nearly every shot fake and very limited offensively..

Deserves to be picked, but nowhere near the lottery.

Yeah it really was just the very start of the second half.. It's just amazing that he can do it in so many different ways. It's not like he just "gets hot", he really has the total offensive package.. He could struggle when he hits the league with bigger more athletic defenders, but I can't wait to see what he looks like once he himself gets in top shape and adjusts to the speed of the game.

I'm with this. He's still just too damn raw, and limited.

And he's better, stronger, and 10 times more athletic. Better rebounder.. Probably a better finisher around the rim and better rim protector too.. I don't see WCS capable of averaging 4 blocks per 36minutes when he's 22..

McGee averages nearly as many blocks per 36 on his career as WCS does per 40 minutes against SEC teams.

Other than McGee being a complete bonehead half the time I don't think their game as of right now is even close.. 5 years down the road, maybe he's to where McGee is now.. But do you waste that on a lottery pick?

But he wasn't taken in the lottery. And McGee is more athletic than WCS.

                    Re: 2014 Draft Class

For as much hype as the 2014 NBA draft class has received, people fail to realize that it's very top heavy. Once you breach past the high-profile names such as Wiggins, Parker, Randle, Exum, Gordon, Dougie McBuckets, Smart, etc., you run out of names rather quickly in terms of impactful NBA prospects.

The draft could perhaps produce some future NBA starts, but in terms of tertiary players that could be reliable role players at the next level, they simply aren't there.

It is, but usually drafts don't have this much talent at the top. Usually there's 1-2 guys that warrant a #1 pick. You could make a case for 4-5 this year. (Parker, Wiggins, and Embiid obviously...maybe Smart or Exum depending on need)

Now we wait to read the posts declaring how guys' stock are moving way up or down based simply off March Madness.

Hint: March Madness means squat when judging a prospect on the next level. Use the regular season and the overall body of work. Just my .02.

I think P.J. Hairston is going to be the sleeper of this years draft. I hope he falls to the latter half of the first round.

Thomas should definitely still be in the league though... I don't know him personally so I can't say for sure, but I'd be willing to guess his shortcomings have more to do with poor work ethic than anything.
