    Re: 2014 Draft Class

I really question how Jabari's offensive game will translate when he's competing with small forwards not power forwards/centers. I think he's going to struggle & he is bad on the defensive side of the ball. I think Wiggins is the much better prospect of the two & and I'd definitely go with him before Parker.

      Re: 2014 Draft Class

I wish I could find shot charts or in depth stats for some of these college guys rather than having to judge purely on the "eye-test" and what I've saw from these guys.

The only chart I've found of Randle is of the first 13 games of the season.. The chart shows that Randle has shot 75/132.. Of the 75 makes 59 of them were at the rim, which this chart considers layups, dunks, and tip-ins.. Randle is 59/73 or 80%.. The problem is anything away from the rim (basically anything other than a lay-up or dunk) he's 27%, or 16/59.. This is represented by 16/53 on two point shots or 30%, and 0/6 from three.. By looking at the chart you can see a large amount of the misses, probably close to half, are right in the lane.. Which only furthers my concerns of him since anything other than a lay-up or dunk he's only hitting 27%..

Like I said, this chart only represents the first 13 games if the year.. His season totals are 51% on two point shots and 16% from three. 2 point attempts 184/356, 3 point shots 3/18... Judging by that his 2-percentage is pretty good, the only problem is we have no idea where those shots are coming from.. The smaller sample size from the first 13 games of the year would suggest he can't finish much of anything outside of about 2 feet from the rim.. Which is a concern for me.

Just for comparison sake, Blake Griffin shot a higher NBA 3point percentage his rookie season than Randle has shot this year on any shot that isn't "at the rim".

I think so. Hard to judge Exum without exposure to him in college ball, but Jabari is so much more of a complete player overall. If Exum doesn't develop a jump shot he won't do anything in the league. I think his athleticism is overrated...it isn't like he has Westbrook-type athleticism with strength and speed. He can blow past guys in his high school league or whatever he plays in, but the NBA is much more athletic at the PG spot...like I said, hard to judge. There's also more injury concerns because he's just another player who relies way too much on speed. I'd like to see the combine results and see how his speed and quickness compare to all of the new uber-athletic PGs like Wall and Rose. That's what would change my mind.

I know I've been saying this for a while now. But I'm not interested in this Exum guy. I need more game tape on him. And I'd like to see him play in some tough games before I'd pick him high.

His draft express video is pretty good. I watched a lot of full games of his (ok only 5). From I what I seen he has a lot of tools the size and the speed. My only concern with those overseas players is the level of comp they played against. Also the unknown factor on how there game will transition. I think he will be a good player under the right usage.

I will say this though, Exum has the intangibles.

I don't know his shot chart, but I remember one of the Kentucky commentators saying that Randle was shooting around 40% on post-ups by the end of the SEC Tournament.

Cleanthony Early would be a nice pickup for a team, having checked the mock draft, but I imagine he's gotta be top 15.

Agreed, he just has that NBA-type player look about him when he plays.

I think he's projected to go in the 20-30 range.

Everyone in the first round will get an intriguing prospect. It's a wide open draft. Guys like Stauskus, Early and Lavine could go in the teens all the way to the late 20's. The top 5 picks themselves will be a question mark.

Exum has been the name on everyone's tongue. Gordon and McDermott are guys who could be polarizing. Voneleh was getting higher praise than Randle at some points of the year.

I think it'll be a fun draft which will yield several rotational players.

I have a feeling Stauskus will wind up being a lottery pick. I think his play-making abilities will impress enough scouts that he'll move up in the draft. He's going to be more than just a scorer in the NBA.

Looking at DX's current mock, I'd take him over Ennis, Hood, McDermott, WCS and probably Gary Harris. All who are currently projected over him.

Looking at DX's mock I think Isaiah Austin will be a steal for somebody in the second round. I still have no idea what to make of Kyle Anderson either. I think he is extremely skilled, but he has no athleticism.
