He's such a question mark. The guy avoided all competitive basketball for the last year and he has somehow RISEN on draft boards. I think Exum is going to be a good NBA PG but I'm confused why someone would even think about taking him over Wiggins.

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
Projects to be a 2 way player like Wiggins, devastating first step, and probably a better finisher and passer than both of them right now. Needs to improve his left hand (like Wiggins) and his jumpshot though. He's got a chance to be a superstar, and it also helps that intangibles wise, he's as good as there is, but you have to have balls of steel to take him over Jabari and Wiggins with how much hype they have.NFL: Bills

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
I hear you. That's why I asked specifically about his skill set. He has not proven he can shoot at all, in fact right now it's below average unless he's made a quick improvement since scouts last saw him in real games. To take him #1 is basically doing so on very limited evidence. I would still take him top 5 but #1?
Btw exum is nowhere near Westbrook in terms of explosiveness and athleticism

Exactly, I agree..
And even if his skill set is comparable to someone like Westbrook, how good of a player is that really if you take away half of his explosiveness.

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
Well we can't really prove much of anything until they all play in the NBA, but he has great body control when he's in the air and has great touch around the rim. Just a really crafty finisher, and both Wiggins and Jabari struggle a bit in terms of finishing.NFL: Bills

nice little article showing shot charts for the top guys in the draft.
the difference between stauskas/mcbuckets and the rest of the guys is insane

Wiggins and Jabari were pretty much average according to shot charts, but if you exclude the breakaway and uncontested dunks, they tended to really struggle finishing in traffic.NFL: Bills

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
Well we don't really have proof of how any of these guys will fare in the NBA. Exum has played against competition on par with the college guys as well, just not in awhile, and he excelled in those environments as well. Nobody knows for sure if Jabari or Wiggins will be able to beat their men off the dribble for awhile or finish in traffic against NBA athletes either. You just have to go with what you have. Based off of what people have seen of Exum, he appears to have a great combination or athleticism, body control, touch and craftiness around the rim.NFL: Bills

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
I guess I'm more skeptical than you guys.. I don't take what "people say" on the surface level. I've seen him in action at the world summit but besides that there's limited footage. From what I've seen I just don't see how you would take him #1
But again I'd take him too 5

Re: 2014 Draft Discussion
you take/think about him #1 because hes a point guard. if he was a 2/3/ i doubt it would even be discussedComment
