Official word from Bulls is that DRose is out "indefinitely" but vibe is they're indeed bracing for prospect he misses rest of '13-14 season

IMO bulls have to blow it up if d-rose is missing the season (atleast move deng/booz) but some guy on espn twitter feed just said bulls are 3rd best team in the east even without d-rose. O.o

Wow. Can't believe the Bulls are going through this again(being without Rose). They shouldn't blow it up though, not yet anyway. They'll still get a top 4 seed without him most likely. And it's doubtful imo that he'll miss the entire season. That seems crazy.

I agree, i don't see rose being out that long. Ive seen some guys projected to be out a couple of months with this same injury, and be back in weeks. Metta was the most recent case i remember. But knowing rose he'll be back probably no later than just before playoffs, unless they find that it is really bad when they do surgery, then he might just stay out the rest of the year.

As far as blowing up the team, i don't think thats a good idea. personally i say if rose really does miss the whole year, then do what you can for this year, then come out next year in full force. this team is built for a championship run, even if its brief. I'd hate to see that go to waste. But to be honest, if they do blow up anything. I'd say blow up the bench except for gibson, and see if you can get other guys. If a starter must go, then let it be boozer, try to resign deng, but in the event that you can't, try and get a good fa. But i really like luol deng. i sometimes just get the feeling they don't use him appropriately on the offensive side of the ball, is why hes not as effective as he could be. Cuz he shows spurts quite often of being a 20ppg guy.

So, does Rose ever recover? Two major injuries during the prime of one's career can't be good for the long-term.

Bulls will let this team make their run and hope he comes back in time. They have to prepare for the fact he doesn't return, so hearing that isn't surprising. ANd blow what up? Everyone said the Bulls were playing for the next year. This was just their last honest chance with this core. Next year marks the beginning of their next opportunity.

Deng and Boozer are gone either way, which makes the idea of blowing it up that much harder to figure. This isn't your chance to shed cap space, unless you weighing the trading of Taj or Jimmy.

i do believe the bulls absolutely HAVE to make a trade for a scorer off the bench, your best 2 guards are now injured, and the bench was already suspect to begin with.

I don't know the severity of the tear but I thought Meniscus tears usually heal in 4-6 weeks?

Would it really be a surprise that DRose, with an injury that typically takes 4-8 weeks to come back from, misses 4-8 months?

I don't think he's gone this long. He's going to feel like "I got past an ACL tear and I can easily get through this." I think he's back mid to late march.

It depends on the location and how severe the tear is, as well as type of operation. If they remove the torn meniscus (unrepairable), he can possibly be back in 4-6 weeks. If they are able to repair it, it may take 6 months plus.

Just because it takes "4-8 weeks" doesn't mean you can come back at 100%. Hell I had two torn ligaments in my ankle that "healed" almost 2 months ago and I'm still not 100%.

STAT showing signs of life tonight. 12 points on 5-5 shooting, active on the boards, even drew a charge and has played decent defense.

Ok this is what I was wondering(the difference in healing time for repairing vs removing). Thanks.

Anyway I was about to let you guys know that Miami is down big to Orlando, but then they opened the half on a 10-0 run and are only down 9 now. E'Twaun Moore can't miss tonight though.

Aaron Brooks is on fire from three, as are the rest of the Rockets. Too many turnovers though, keeping the Wolves in it.
