My take on this is that its a non issue because

1. it was 6 mins left, not the whole game like AI.

2. he apologized unlike AI.

3. The game was already over at that point, and he couldnt have made a difference (didnt help that his shot was off too)

Not going in the game in the 4th qtr of a blowout is something I guarantee you every superstar/team leader has done. Whats the point? The reason this was even news was because of his reasoning for not coming back in. He reportedly was upset with teammates criticizing his shooting performance. Thats why he apologized, for being immature and upset with what teammates said, not necessarily for not coming back into a game the pistons had won for sure.
