Time to just completely write off Dallas?

I don't know. All season I've waited for these guys to really roll, but they have looked terrible lately...and even worse before that.

Everyone talks about the West being loaded and no one wanting to be "4th or 5th" as you'll probably get Dallas in the first round...but I'd much rather play them than Houston or the Grizzlies.

Right now, I'd rather a first round match up with them than Portland to be honest.

These guys just can't defend. They have a 4 and 1 first round loss written all over them IMO.

I wouldn't write them off simply because they can't defend. Remember that come playoff time, they can focus on just one opponent and I think they'll be able to play D if they scout them enough. Granted they're horrible 1 on 1 defenders but they can just throw zones or whatever Nellie thinks of.

They probably won't get far if they don't address their D but with all that offense, it'd be stupid to write them off.

Sorry, but there's no On/Off switch for defense at playoff time.

Re: Time to just completely write off Dallas?

My point was that it would be easier for them to play D because they can focus on one opponent but that doesn't mean they're gonna be a good defensive team all of a sudden. They just don't have that mentality, they want to outscore but not stop teams.

Still, who knows how far they'll get, D or not.

They focused on Tim Duncan last year and he lit them up like a Christmas tree.

True, they also had games where they should have won but just collapsed. Still, I wouldn't write them off because of all that offense. You can't underestimate their ability.

Funny thought, I'm not even a Dallas fan but I'm defending them. Hope they meet up with SacTown in the playoffs so we can get our sweet revenge.
