They just don't have that swagger that Nick gave them. He was their attitude that they needed. He was the one that spoke up during interviews and told it how it is. Dallas should have kept him and Avery. Even if they're both hurt.

yeah, they have no vocal leader. As much of a leader as Finley is, he's not that vocal.

Perimeter, post, help, weak side, whatever. he is one of the worst 7 foot player on defense in the league. Most of the time, it seems like he doesn't even care. He plays like that guy in pick up games that just is lazy on defense so he can score on offese, and isn't winded when it comes time to run the break. The achilles heel on D for Dallas is Dirk, bar none.

You know, I am starting to agree re Dirk.

I don't think he doesn't try, more that he just lacks defensive awareness. He's very european in his defensive mannerisms, so an adjustment to the more physical NBA game was to be expected...but it doesn't seem to be occuring.

He's almost the Ben Wallace of 'Offense'.

Dallas really has done poorly by him though...every man and his dog can see Dirks flaws, but Cuban and co. have still to put anything like a decent shot blocker behind him.

Dirk wasn't this 'exposed' when Bradley was blocking shots.
