    Sixers . . . without AI

Does anyone know this season's record that the Sixers have WITHOUT AI. He's missed like 23 games, and it seems as if the Sixers play better without him. Anyone know their record without Iverson?

About 7 and 16, something like that I think. They are not better without him, it's just a bunch of guys putting effort in on the odd night or two, whether they could do it for a whole 82 games is a big difference. Same thing when the Spurs won most of their games without Duncan.
Another thing with today's game was that guys are playing without any pressure, there's nothing to lose when your season is basically over.

Didn't they just go 7-1 or 7-2 without Iverson and Big Dogg?

Maybe their record is better than I thought then...

I wonder about you. Just throwing out stuff for the hell of it. And you're an AI homer...but anyways...

The Sixers are 10-13 when Allen doesn't play. They have a better winning percentage w/o AI than they do with him. Go fig. And they are 5-1 in the last six games AI has missed.

I did say 'about' and according to your figures I was only 3 games off anyways... sheesh, keep your panties on.

And I still stand by my reason for why teams can have winning records without their best player. It's very similar this season for both the 76ers and the Spurs. Both teams are often guilty of taking it easy and simply expecting Iverson and Duncan to do it all. Yet when these stars are out then it's an obvious point made of how they must step up and all contribute with their best efforts. It's a lot easier to do in short spurts of games. Similar to how a team gets on a high when a trade takes place.

While I like a lot of guys on the Sixers, I doubt they'd be able to have a winning record for a much longer stretch.

Anyone who says this current Sixers team is better without Iverson isn't thinking straight. I saw the same comments, not quite as many but just the same about the Spurs when Nesterovic, Rose and Parker and crew played some good games without Duncan and averaged a lot more points as a team.
