Blew that 27 point lead I see, nice to see them hang on for the win.Wearing new black uniforms and hearing "Let's go Lakers!" chants, the Lakers jumped on the Nets right from the start and were ahead 48-21 early in the second quarter.Comment

How did kidd get away with having jack or henn on the rocks on the sideline? Lol at Lawrence franks face after the spill. Lol at Steve Blake being in the huddle as some random assistant was drawing up the final play

The spilling of the drink to buy time is pretty 'clever,' but nothing more than that. It's a pretty desperate move, and unfortunate that Kidd is so overwhelmed by the situation that he felt the need to orchestrate something as hilarious as that. Lawrence Frank looks positively mortified, and you know he wouldn't sign off on that.
Said Taylor: "No [Kidd didn't say that]. I wasn't paying attention. I just kind of bumped him. I didn't even know he was holding [anything]. [But] coach was drinking a soda on the sideline. I was like, 'What's he doing?'
"It could ice a free throw shooter and be a timeout when you don't have one, but that wasn't the thought process. I was just coming out, and he was in my way. 'Coach, get out of my way, bro.' "

"Desperate" is reach. Mike Fratello said he and other coaches used to resort to the same tricks. You do what you have to. Kidd is pretty funny to watch on the sidelines. Looks like he had some left in the tank after all lol. I think he's kind of over playing his coach's role atm. He'll figure it out and calm down.
That was kind of an exciting game even though it wasn't very high quality basketball. At times the Nets looked good with some flashes of good ball movement and what this team could be like if they clicked. If anybody was ever going to break the Bulls win record the struggling east opens the door for Miami and Indy to make a push this season.
Sad thing is, on paper a lot of these east teams aren't that bad.. Idk what the problem is.. No reason for NY and BK to be playing like this so early on.Comment
