Well, the USA is out. Yugoslavia wins it 81-78. I didn't watch much of it, but from what I saw, the US just wasn't playing team ball, and was making a lot of mistakes and taking bad shots. Hopefully they'll bounce back in whatever tournament is next, I don't know when thats going to be though.

well they still have to play two more games. They play for 5th-8th place starting tomorrow. Hopefully they will try and finish 5th.

I could care less about 5th place. There's no reason why the US shouldn't medal. With that team, even though it wasn't the best that could have been fielded, their performance was terrible.

I thought after losing to Argentina, I would have thought USA would bounce back and beat Yugoslavia. I though wrong. I haven't seen the highlights yet, but I think they weren't playing as a team. I think they were just shocked from the loss, that they are worn out. They should be getting ready for the season though.

To me it looked like the USA played NBA style basketball. (aka one on one or two on two) IMO they just didn't have the tools to get it done. Their big men were awful and when their perimeter men got cold the US couldn't score. Finley, Pierce, and Reggie missed a ton of shots. What happened to the Ben Wallace that can pull down 17 + boards a night? What happened to O'neal who could give his team 20 and 10 on any given night? I know that they don't play as many minutes in the tournament, but come on. I may have missed it, but did Marion play tonight?

Don't get me wrong, I wanted the US to win with all my heart. I watched more of the game tonight than I did of the football game. My wife actually had to tell me to stop yelling at the TV. I really hope that the top NBA players look deep in their heart and find some patriotism in time for the olympics.

It's ridiculous, I mean I was way too busy watching the niners game to care too much, but still, that's a friggin' joke. And yes Kobe and the gang would have played better, but I don't blame them for not playing. Anyway I'm really disappointed, okay I'm done ranting now.
