They didn't have their heads in these last two games. Stupid stuff that never flies in the NBA was killing the US. Who gives up cross court backdoor passes? Seriously. Yet the US couldn't stop it. And I couldn't even count how many times they got burned with a horribly ran pick and roll. And was that last play for the 3 the best play our guys could have come up with? Boggles my mind what our guys were thinking when they were playing. Reggie was the only one that really seemed into it, and I have a newfound respect for him for first actually being a legendary player and taking time out to play in this tournie, and then actually taking it seriously.

Hmm, I think I tend to run my paragraphs together as it gets late. Oh well.

it's just sad to watch a team come down and make, AT THE MOST, two passes before jacking up a shot. all these players were just looking for their points, just like the NBA, even tho nobody's gonna care if u got 20 and 10 in the world championships, they'll just care if you won or lost... i wouldn't be surprised if this bunch just quit and loses one or both of their remaining games. they have no heart.

maybe they will use our best players next time. Shaq and Kobe, Vince, Iverson etc. Divac and petrovek (sp?) were on the Yugoslavia team. they were a good team.

ahahahahaa! those bums, anyways. It's not as simple as "sending" the best players, the best players don't wanna go. But maybe now they'll have some incentive to re-establish US dominance.

Do they really have to play in that game for 5th or 8th place? If so that's great, playing in that game will force them to have to go through even more embarrassment, and maybe they'll learn a lessen and try to straighten up next time. Sure we didn't send out best team over there, but they still should have won.

Why'd George Karl get picked as the coach? Seems to me that if he couldn't get the Bucks in the playoffs, then he's not the man for the job.

I think it's every four years, opposite of the Olympics, so every 2 years you get this or the Olympics. I'm not 100% sure though.

It was quite clear they had no focus. After having it handed to them by Argentina, they should have wanted somebody's a$$. Instead....they come to play Yugo with the same intensity and focus. Basic knowledge of how to play the game of basketball killed them. Pathetic. They need to finish strong regardless of position. Some of these guys received big contracts this season with others looking towards next year. If I was a GM this would show what kind of heart and leadership I would be investing in.

Yess ... finally they have defeated USA for good!!!! Not because i hate USA so much but i hate the lack of a oponent respect in sport. I hate the shelfish players ....
Nba players come here to europe and think they are gods here.
Only Kidd and Jordan are the players who have earned my respect ... i hope USA now learns that they are not gods of basketball ... and as u have mentioned ... the game is not only about dunking and 1on1 ....

And it's very nice to see that u americans are not all like that. U admit what is going on. I absoulutely agree that USA is much ahead in basketball from other world but just have to use your heads and not to seek a personal stats from the game. And nba stars should respect at least themselves .. if they are not respecting others .. when it comes to play for theyr country ... it must be a honor for everybodey. So whe u blame Pierce and O'Neal ... u should also blame Carnett, Carter, Shaq, Kobe..... its a shame for usa basketball and u got what u have earned

too many punks in the nba today, i bet you Kobe and the rest who decided not to play for there country are now resenting there choice. ballhogging, selfishness, and street ball antics is the the biggest threat to killing the nba's soul(it's taking it's toll already), and that's why the US lost.
and i'm a bucks fan, they should of NOT picked George Karl after the horrible, horrible job he did last with our Bucks team that should at least made it all the way.(of course the ernie grunfield is turning into a ron wolf, they both know how to destroy a championship team with bonehead moves - getting Mason last year and now Kukoc for our top dog, long-time players is just BEYOND stupididty) Just like our team, George Karls teams can never keep a freaking lead, and he seems like a very passive coach who does next to nothing during the game. i'm suprised he didn't shoot insults at the players at the post-game press conference.

Team USA loses again, to Spain this time, 81-75. Sixth place finish. What a terrible performance. They should be embarrassed with the way they played in this tournament. I sure hope they are.

That's the most ridicules thing I've ever heard. I'm absolutely disgusted with this team. That's ....that's just unacceptable. I thought the first two were kinda funny, but a 3rd I just can't even believe.

I cant' believe they lost to Spain also. Losing to Argentina and Yugo was bad enough, but come one... a 3rd time? That's horrible. I don't care anymore though...its their fault and hopefully the next Team USA will kick everyone's @$$ in the tourney and bring back USA Dom,inance...anyway...big props to Argentina, Yugoslavia, and Spain for defeating USA.

So Argentina and Yugoslavia play each other tomorrow for the World Championships? Who do you guys think will win? I think Yugoslavia will ahnd Argentina its first loss and win it all.
