      I am for them doing away with an out-of-bounds call when the ball goes over the top of the backboard and is still a live or playable ball. That is, if goes over top and hits the goal structure, but is still playable, let the ball stay live.

        The shot clock should be a shot clock and not a hit-the-rim clock.

            I think he means that if a player throws a shot up and airballs or hits the side of the backboard that the clock would still reset because they took a shot.
