Nicknames were earned by style of play and uniqueness at one point. This trash is just some self imposed this is what I call myself and it really has nothing to do with basketball.

AIR, GLIDE, MAGIC (some people probably dont realize thats not his first name),round mound of rebound, worm, Dr.,Human Highlight Film, most of these names were given to these guys for what they did on the court, not some stuff like JJ or some self imposed troll name.

Im actually surprised given the backlash of the XFL that they even did this but with the ideas i've been seeing coming out of the league office I guess I shouldn't be.

Like I said when they first a announced this, as long as it's a one time deal, I'm cool with it.

Not like I'm going to be calling these dudes by these nicknames anyway going forward.

That's just it to me, it's his initials. Nothing creative at all about that. Like Greg Oden's jersey is GO. That's not a nickname that's just initials. Nicknames should be creative. That's part of why I hate Derrick Rose's lol. D-Rose, nothing creative about that.

I don't have a problem with the names on the jersey, they did that for Pistol Pete, so this isn't something new. Like I said, they just ruined it because every jersey has it whether dudes actually have a nickname or not.

joe probably doesnt like the name iso joe, even though its perfect.....and his team given nickname has jesus in it so the NBA wont allow that
