I think the Magic need a lot of retooling. I know, understatement.

What they need to do first, is to win the lottery. Then get a good big man who can help right away. Okafor would probably be good, if his back holds up.

Then, they need to trade away either Juwan Howard or Drew Gooden. Cause they are the same. Tho, I like Howard a bit better. He puts up better numbers (16.6 ppg, 7.2 rpg vs 11.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg), is a bit more consistent, and he's a more veteran presence. But they need to trade one of those guys for a good solid PG. Maybe someone along the lines of . . . hell, I dunno.

Either that, or draft a good PG, and trade Drew or Juwan for Erick Dampier. Either way works.

Then, they need to get Grant Hill either healthy or off the books. Cause his contract and lack of playing are seriously hurting that franchise.

And finally, they need a pure shooter. Someone who can open the floor up to TMac and the rest of the team. Someone like Mike Miller. Oh wait, they already traded him.

I say if the Magic want to keep T-Mac, then need to trade their pick for a star player to help out. Someone who is already accomplished and what not.

Mistake number one is keeping Johnny "moral victory" Davis as coach next year. After hiring a JV hockey GM to be the GM, and keeping John Gabriel on the staff as a player scouter, I don't see how you could be optimistic about this team. Okafor wouldn't help the team like they need it. It'll take him a few years to develop anyhow. Tmac has been shafted enough. I don't think he'll stay if it comes to it.

He was talking about staying if they get the right pieces last week, and the GM heard about it, and started talking about how he doesn't care what anyone says and how he'll do what he feels with the team and so on. At first I couldn't believe it, then I realized the entire front office of that team is continually a real mess.
