Oh I used to be the same boat as you. The "He's not that bad" boat. But please believe, he is THAT bad. I live in NorCal so I watch every locally televised Warrior/King game I can. He is awful.
But the most frustrating thing is that he can be good when he really tries. Like you said, he plays LA very well. He has also played Blake very well. But most of these games are hard to watch. It's a mix of lack of awareness and effort mostly, which is also annoying because of how much effort there is offensively. Bogut often is there to clean up mistakes by Lee, making him seem not as bad.
As said before, he can play good D, it's just so often that he doesn't. I just hope he starts playing D come playoff time. If he does, he will be huge for us.
Also the Warriors are solid on the perimeter defense. Andre, Klay, Dray, and HB are all decent to superior perimeter defenders. Even Steve Blake is better than I expected, I mean we are third in defensive rating for a reason. Only liabilities on defense are Curry(who gets put on the weakest offensive player) and Crawford. Don't get me started on Jordan Crawford.
