That`s just because of the lack of talent.. honestly.. the East is lacking major.. bt it`s a competitive conference, so you expect more losses than wins in their fight for a playoff spot.. the West is almost a lock every year, w/ the 8th spot being the exception.. there`s always a fight for that.

And what I meant w/ the timezone difference is.. say you want the game to start at 5:00 on the east coast.. that`s 2 on the west.. what about work in LA ? Work comes before play, even w/ the Playoffs becuaase you have to feed and provide for your family, not go watch the Lakers.

I don't think its a lock all the time in the West. There was a huge battle for home court in the west involving the the top and the bottom of the confrence that lasted untill the end of the season. The battle for position in the top for the East ended a long time before the season ended.

I'm glad the whole playoff series is longer because it gives teams a chance to win. If the series with the Pistons and the Magic were 5 games, Detroit would be dust, but thats not the story.

Yeah, a huge battle for home court.. what I meant was.. the same teams making the playoffs.. it`s always the same teams battling for homecourt.. this year was a bit different though.. w/ the Wolves geting the 1st seed.

Why is there so much time between games? Hockey's very physical and they have back to back games multiple times during the series, yet the Pistons and Bucks played today, and game 2 is Wednesday...this is just way too much time, IMO

well the "undeserving" teams are mostly just fodder for the best teams to warm up on in round 1.
Just as in the Ncaa tourny , the 16seed plays the 1 seed, in the nba i think its 8vs1 ,but in the NBA it is actually a closer matchup. The NFL is probabl the greatest at this but they would definetly play more games if it wasn't such a brutal sport that takes a week to heal.
It is true that the NBAplayoffs don't get interesting until after the first round (unless you happen to be a fan of one of the longshot teams and then the first round can be great fun)

I happen to like the nba playoffs more than any other sports playoffs. I see more competition and with more games to watch, there's bound to be more competition. For me, basketball is the most exciting sport and to see it more often is better than watching football once a week.

The format (best of 7) gives teams a chance to compete more.

The only thing I don't like is that there is no back to back games so far. I think last year or the year before they had back to back games. Other than that I enjoy how the playoffs are. 8 teams per conference is perfect. If there's only 4, then it's gonna be too short and of course I wanna see more and more basketball.
